The 'Butler' director describes the new film a gay version of 'Mr and Mrs Smith' with 'two good-looking guys as the action heroes.'

AceShowbiz - Alex Pettyfer will reunite with Lee Daniels in the next film. The openly-gay director reveals to Out magazine that he's developing an "interracial love affair action movie" revolving around a gay couple with the "Magic Mike" star attached to play one of the male leads.

Daniels describes the untitled project a gay "Mr and Mrs Smith, but [with] the two good-looking guys as the action heroes." The filmmaker gushes about scoring Pettyfer for the movie, "He's so hot, isn't he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that's so...I love him to death."

The Oscar-nominated helmer says the film is in early development and he is still searching for an African-American actor to star opposite Pettyfer. In regards to the plotline, he doesn't reveal much but does divulge the twist, "We don't find out they're gay until the end of the movie."

When asked about pitching his project to studio bosses, Daniels is confident he will get the fund he needs, given his history of making box office hits. "I don't think I'm going to have a problem now. I made a $100 million for 'The Butler.' I'm in a rare group. So this is something I feel good about."

Pettyfer played a supporting role in the historical fiction drama "Lee Daniels' The Butler", starring as hot-tempered farm owner Thomas Westfall who was shot to dead after raping the wife of his sharecropping tenant. The hunky actor will next be seen in romantic drama "Endless Love" opposite Gabriella Wilde.
