The Jarda depicter in 'The Bourne Supremacy' is tapped to villainize the remake of the 1980s CBS drama, which also stars Chloe Moretz.
"The Equalizer" has found its villainous man in Marton Csokas. Best known for villainizing Vin Diesel's "XXX" as Yorgi, Csokas is secured to star alongside Denzel Washington as a vicious fixer for the Russians in Sony Pictures' upcoming remake of the same-titled drama from CBS in 1980s.
The latest film from "Olympus Has Fallen" director Antoine Fuqua centers on Washington's Robert McCall, the mysterious retired intelligence officer with a hidden past who helps out people. When he shows his kindness toward a teen prostitute named Teri, he unknowingly gets himself embroiled with a Russian mob.
Chloe Moretz has been on board the project earlier to take the role of the young prostitute. The 16-year-old actress landed the daring role after impressing both Washington and Fuqua during a chemistry reading. The character, which was initially envisioned for a twenties-year-old actress, was then rewritten to fit the Hit-Girl of "Kick-Ass".
Mace Neufeld, Michael Sloan, Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal are among the producers. Richard Wenk serves as the scribe for the film, which is slated to start filming this summer in Boston.
Currently filming Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", Csokas also co-stars in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For", the Jessica Alba starrer that will arrive in theaters across the nation on October 4.
