According to Hollywood Reporter, the man behind the acclaimed drama movie "The Great Debaters" has been attached to star in "The Matarese Circle" a film adaptation of Robert Ludlum's novel.
Unlike in the Universal Pictures' action drama "American Gangster", the 53-year-old actor would be portraying the good guy in this film. Hollywood Reporter claimed that an insider revealed that the Academy Award recipient will bring Bradley Scofield, an American secret agent, to the big screen.

Looks like three is still far from enough for both Denzel Washington and Tony Scott. Report from Daily Variety has brought in info that the two are going to work together once again in "The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3" for Columbia Pictures.
Project turns out to be a remake of the 1974 action thriller which was based on the novel by Morton Freedgood who wrote it under the pseudonym John Godey. The original story centers on a New York Transit cop sent to stop a group of terrorists hijacking a subway car for a million dollar ransom. Washington is said to get billed as the cop, played by Walter Matthau in the original.

Still eager to keep going into producing thing, Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington is on duty to produce a film feature entitled "Journal for Jordan", based on a first-person essay published in January in the New York Times of which rights the Escape Artists has secured.
The essay, written by Dana Canedy, describes a 200-page journal made by her fiance, First Sgt. Charles Monroe King who was perished in Baghdad only one month shy of finishing his tour of duty. It contains words of wisdom for their son about how to live a proper life and to prepare him for a life without his father. King himself never got the chance to meet his own child since he had left for the Middle East before he was born.

The Hollywood hunk has been chosen the No. 1 America's Favorite Movie Star in the nationwide Harris Poll of 1,147 U.S. adults surveyed online by Harris Interactive between December 12 and 18, 2006.
Dropping from number one to number two is Hanks, while movie legend John Wayne remains in third place. Tough guy Clint Eastwood jumps up two spots to fourth place. Next on the poll is Will Smith who along with actress Julia Roberts tie for the 5th spot.

Following Hurricane Katrina, Tony Scott left the Walt Disney Pictures' "Deja Vu" let many questioning on its future. Yet, he's coming back and will direct the flick in New Orleans despite the disaster. This also means that Denzel Washington will surely on board to star in.
