Official Teaser Trailer for 'Kick-Ass' Comes Out

The first teaser tailer for adventure fantasy movie "Kick-Ass" has come out through its official website. The more than one minute clip is opened with a narration by the major character, Dave Lizewski, who explains his desire to be a superhero. The snippet also introduces some characters, such as Hit Girl, Big Daddy, and Red Mist.

Based on Mark Millar's comic of the same title, "Kick-Ass" centers on Lizewski, an average teenager whose hobby of reading comic books inspires him to become a real-life superhero. Assembling green-colored suit and mask to wear, he opts to be called Kick-Ass and gets to work fighting crime.

Four of "Kick-Ass" major characters have become the center of attention in a set of newly-released character posters. Debuted by IGN, each of the one-sheets focuses individually on Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl, Big Daddy and Red Mist, the alter egos of Dave Lizewski, Mindy Macready, Damon Macready and Chris D'Amico respectively.

All four posters capture the characters portrayed by Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse from their behind. If combined together in the right order, starting with Red Mist, Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl and Big Daddy, the one-sheets form the title of the movie.

Mark Millar Could Direct a Superhero Movie

Mark Millar, the man behind "Wanted (2008)" and "Kick-Ass", eyes to direct a yet-named superhero movie in 2010. On Saturday, October 31, the comic book writer unraveled his plan through his website Millarworld.tv, writing "...this is one of several big surprises planned for next year and you'll hear a bit more about this in February when we start to release details."

Although the 39-year-old mentioned that principal photography will start in March 2010, he kept other details under tight lid. "What is it? Who is it about?" his post continued to read. "Well, that's all a secret for now, but I learned a lot from Kick-Ass and love having the same creative freedom I have with comics when I work in cinema."

Sequel to Be Teased in 'Kick-Ass'

It's a bit early to talk about any sequel to "Kick-Ass" since the movie won't be heading to theaters until 2010, but graphic novel creator Mark Millar has hyped up premise of a follow-up. Talking to MTV News, the 39-year-old suggested that the movie version will follow similar path to the comic book series.

"There's a basic plot," the comic book writer teased. "The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too." Elaborating more on his sequel remark, he promised, "We don't want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one."

4 Bootleg Clips of 'Kick-Ass' From Comic Con 2009

Director Matthew Vaughn presented clips from his upcoming action comedy "Kick-Ass" during this year's San Diego Comic Con, and all of those snippets have appeared online in bootleg format. Varied in length, the footage serve as an introduction to Aaron Johnson's Dave Lizewski aka Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz's Mindy Macready aka Hit Girl and Nicolas Cage's Damon Macready aka Big Daddy.

The first one highlights on Dave's attempt to be a hero which turns into disaster. Coming across two thugs who try to force open a car door, Dave sees it to be a chance to shine, instead he gets stabbed before being hit by an oncoming car. Another one takes a look at the time Damon trains Mindy to be prepared with the impact of a gunshot by firing at her while she's wearing a bullet-proof vest.

Matthew Vaughn Addresses Possible 'Kick-Ass' Sequel

Director Matthew Vaughn has opened up in recent interview about the possibility of a sequel to his upcoming "Kick-Ass". Talking to Ain't It Cool News, the husband of Claudia Schiffer confessed that he and the comic book creator Mark Millar have thought about an idea for the follow-up movie.

"Mark [Millar] and I over a couple of beers came up with one of the funniest, coolest idea for a sequel that we would only be able to get away with if the film does well," the 38-year-old gushed. "We'd sort of dial it up to eleven, shall we say." Still, he didn't elaborate more on what kind of idea they had in mind regarding the sequel.

A Couple of New Photos From Matthew Vaughn's 'Kick-Ass'

Following the outing of Chloe Moretz's Mindy Macready image, "Kick-Ass" has got another set of photos coming out via Slash Film. One of the pictures displays main character Dave Lizewski in his Kick-Ass costume but having his mask off. The other one, on the other hand, shows an on-set photo of producer John Romita Jr. and creator/writer Mark Millar.

Beside the pics, Slash Film also brought forth updated news regarding "Kick-Ass" panel at 2009 Comic Con. The site stated it has been made official that John Romita Jr. will join director Matthew Vaughn during the "Kick-Ass" panel held on Thursday, July 23 toward the end of the day. It is the panel which will see the premiere of the comic adaptation's footage.

'Kick-Ass' to Premiere First Footage at 2009 Comic Con

"Kick-Ass" will premiere its footage at 2009 Comic Con. Slash Film has learned the superhero movie will have its panel for the festival on Thursday, July 23 toward the end of the day. Matthew Vaughn, director as well as writer of the movie project, will attend the festival to present the film's footage. Some of the film's cast members will also be in attendance, but the names will be announced later.

Along with the news of the movie's inclusion to the Comic Con line-up, a new photo from "Kick-Ass" has been released. It features Chloe Moretz who portrays Mindy Macready, an 11-year-old vigilante which is also known as Hit Girl.

'Kick-Ass 2' Already Planned

"Kick-Ass" is still in its post-production phase, but sequel talks have been brought up into attention. During a recent chat with Sci Fi Wire discussing about his hands-on approach as "Kick-Ass" producer, creator Mark Millar has spilled the bean that "Kick-Ass 2" is being planned and is already in the works.

"Kick-Ass 2 is already being plotted out," the 36-year-old opened up when addressing how "Wanted (2008)" paved the way of his other comic series being materialized as big screen projects. He further pointed out on the likelihood of the sequel being made within the next two years, explaining, "We're planning it, because all the actors are quite young and we have to make it relatively quickly. So we'll definitely do that inside the next 18 to 24 months."

First two official pictures from "Kick-Ass" have been shared by First Showing. Focusing on the titular character in action, the photos display New York City high school student Dave Lizewski in his homemade green and yellow suit and mask.

One of the images exhibits Lizewski played by Aaron Johnson kneeling on top of a man and pointing his batons to the other baddies, while the other still sees bloody Lizewski nailing a thug. Allegedly, these pictures are taken from the scene of Lizewski's first attempt on nailing crooks which ends up on YouTube and makes him famous.

Several On-Set Videos of 'Kick-Ass' Popped Out

After on-set photos exposing a first look into Big Daddy, Nicolas Cage's character, have been leaked earlier, a series of on-the-set videos from "Kick-Ass" has also come out. The first four of the videos present a brief look into the night filming where character Dave Lizewski and The Red Mist ride what seems to be Mist's custom red sports car.

The night footages were said to be taken through Downtown Toronto near the Toronto Eaton Centre. The first video posted below reveal actors, Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, dressed in their characters' costume while driving the red car. The last video display a helicopter with a camera taking shots for the live-action adaptation film.

Bidding War on 'War Heroes' Launched

Giving a nod to the possibility of "War Heroes" getting a big screen adaptation, Mark Millar announced in his official site, MillarWorld.tv, that his latest comic book series has been making its way around Hollywood. He wrote, "I was in London working (and hanging out with some MW buds) over the last couple of days, but War Heroes officially went out to the studios yesterday after a few weeks of informal chats."

Sharing further, the artist behind "Wanted (2008)" original comic book suggested that with the rights are now being pitched out, the movie project is most likely to move on. "Pretty much all the big guys in town are going in for this and things should really start moving in the next couple of days," he noted. "After weeks of informal chats (we wanted to wait until issue two was actually in print and they had either script or full plot for the remaining issues) we're really going to MOVE now."

'Kick-Ass' On-Set Filming Report From Mark Millar

"Kick-Ass" has kicked off its filming in London on Saturday, September 6, and its comic book writer Mark Millar gave out his report on the first two days of shooting. Writing a message on his official site, MillarWorld.tv, he revealed that the first scene shot was the scene where Hit-Girl's dad, Big Daddy, trains her to become a crime fighter.

Explaining in details of the shot, the 38-year-old graphic novelist wrote, "Coincidentally, the first scene shot on the movie was the first scene I wrote on the comic (now the opening to issue six) and it's Hit-Girl in her secret identity, wearing a Hello Kitty T-shirt and a kevlar vest as her Dad pumps round after round into her chest so she knows how a bullet feels."
