The creator of 'The X Factor (US)' remains coy when responding to the judge rumors, saying they are flattered if the 'Till the World Ends' singer is interested to join the show.
Another big name in music industry has been mentioned as the possible new judge on "The X Factor (US)". Us Weekly reported that Britney Spears wants to join the judging panel for the second season of the FOX singing talent show.
A representative for the U.S. version of "The X Factor" has not released any comment on the matter, but Simon Cowell has addressed the rumor during a recent conference call. "Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes," he coyly said about the possibility of the "Hold It Against Me" hitmaker taking one of the vacant posts.
Other names linked to the show include LeAnn Rimes, Janet Jackson, Kelly Rowland and Vanessa Hudgens. Commenting on the judges rumors in general, Cowell stated, "There's a load of speculation, some true, some not true."
While he "can't confirm or deny any of these rumors at the moment," the British producer admitted, "It's true to say that there a lot of more people have entered the frame this year. We were waiting to see who was going to contact us before we actually contacted people... We will meet a number of people over the next few weeks, mainly to explain to them that this is a big commitment when you do a show like this because of the mentoring aspect."
Joining the conference call, another remaining judge L.A. Reid revealed that they are likely to welcome two new female judges in the coming season. Asked when they will officially unveil the new judges, Cowell said, "That will happen over the next few weeks."
As for the hosting gig, Cowell who created the show confirmed that "there will be two" hosts in season two. "I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show, and I definitely think that's going to happen now," he explained.
Also on the same occasion, the former "American Idol" judge talked about the possibility of "X Factor" doing a Whitney Houston tribute. "I have a feeling, just a hunch, that you may see a Whitney tribute on 'The Voice' and 'Idol' before us," he said before adding, "If we decide to do it, we have to do it in a different way. The important thing is that we are going to continually pay tribute to Whitney on this show."
