, who decided to exit from "" earlier this year, reportedly will develop her own recording company. She is allegedly interested to sign the Idol outcasts who are considered to have potential but were dropped from the Idol label, 19 Recordings.

"Paula's not naming any names because she wants to sign talent quietly so she can maximize her investment," a source told The National Enquirer. "But she definitely has her eye on artists who released records, and then got lost in the shuffle."

If the rumor is true, Paula will try to reach out the likes of , , and other former Idol contestants who have left 19 Recordings.

On previous news, Paula Abdul was set to announce nominations for this year's American Music Awards alongside and on October 13 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

Well... what's the label going to be called... "2 Steps Backwards" ... Can anyone tell me what "Modern Whomp" means or does it have something to do with Gaylor Hicks & Hole Patrol?

All of the Idols listed in the article are signed to other labels and have recently released or have upcoming cds. This article sounds like it threw in portions of another article about Kara DioGuardi having a reality show that would HELP those same Idols. They might not be at the top of the scale but they are all doing their thing and doing it quit well.

I really think that Taylor likes Paula, but I doubt he would take her up on this because he has worked all his life to have his career on HIS terms. He has his own company. I know he will be flattered, though.

PSSSSTTT!!! Taylor Hicks has his OWN label -- Modern Whomp Records and released his sophomore album early in January 2009 -- and don't think he'll be signing with the Paula label (if this rumour is true).

Katharine McPhee has been signed with Verve Forecast for the last year, her 2nd album is out in January 2010. I doubt she would be interested.
