Celebrity

"I was really excited ... and I kind of wasn't excited anymore," Taylor says when recalling her acceptance speech at 2009 MTV VMAs which was interrupted by Kanye.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift talked exclusively to MTV News about Kanye West cutting short her acceptance speech for her Best Female Video prize at the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 13. "It has been a crazy night, hasn't it?" she said backstage after the awards ceremony, adding that she never imagined something bad would happen after the hip-hop performer made a sudden appearance on stage.

"Well, you know, I was up there and I was standing there and I saw Kanye up on the stage," explained the country music songstress. "I was really excited ... and I kind of wasn't excited anymore." Taylor stopped her comment there though and didn't make bad comment about Kanye despite the fact that he has ruined her moment at the prestigious ceremony.

Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech for her Best Female Video prize when Kanye West suddenly jumped to the stage and took away the microphone she was holding, telling audience "Yo Taylor. I'm really happy for you. I'm gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" Beyonce Knowles, Taylor, as well as the audience were all stunned by the incident.

However, later that day when she was announced as Video of the Year winner for her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" music video, Beyonce invited Taylor to once again come to the stage and finish her speech which was previously cut short by Kanye. Speaking of what Beyonce has done, Taylor told MTV News, "You know, they told me to be ready just in case she might want to say something. It was just so wonderful and so incredibly classy of her and just gracious and wonderful to let me say something. She's just been my hero and one of my idols ever since I was little. She's a great person."

As for Kanye, hours after his rant he took it to his blog to write an apologetic message dedicated to Taylor, her mother and fans. Part of his post read, "I'M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT! ................ I'M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I'M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW."
