Full audio stream of Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" has finally emerged. Instead being debuted at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards like it was previously planned, the lead single from "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" soundtrack album was unveiled on MTV online publication and the band's MySpace.

"The song at its core is just about meeting another halfway, because life is very short, because there's only a brief period of time to really connect with people, and that it's important to recognize that," frontman Ben Gibbard previously told MTV about how the song fits to the story of the film. "I just wanted something that kind of tonally matched the story and the scenes within the film, so they could kind of be put alongside but not be telling a narrative you're watching on the screen."

This band have filmed the track's accompanying music video in Toronto, Canada. On what they want for the video, bassist Nick Harmer said it would be cool if Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner appear in the video. There hasn't been any premiere date for the video.

The compilation set of the "New Moon" soundtracks itself will be released in U.S. on October 20 via Chop Shop/Atlantic Records and has been made available for pre-order in digital retails. Aside from Death Cab for Cutie, other musicians scoring music for the movie are yet to be disclosed. Words are, Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Kings of Leon, Lee Safar, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear and Muse will contribute to this studio project. Also, the movie's leading man Robert Pattinson, who wrote two songs for the first installment of the film series "Twilight", may get his hands into crafting music for this flick.

Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" can be streamed on the band's MySpace.
