There won't be any nude scene in "The Twilight Saga's New Moon". Clearing up the air from the faux nude scene news, director Chris Weitz, Summit Entertainment and even Jamie Campbell Bower, the actor who sparked the news in the first place, have set record straight, explaining that it was all a joke.
In an e-mail statement sent to MTV News, Weitz insisted that there won't be a naked scene in the vampire drama, "I would like to put everyone's mind at rest and let them know that the Volturi are not naked!" The director went on further, "Jamie has what you might call a dry sense of humor and almost managed to convince me - which is why he's such a good actor. Anyway, be assured that, even though we do want the look of the Volturi to be a bit of a surprise, they are always - as in the book! - fully clothed."
A representative for Summit sounded off similar remark. "For those that have had the opportunity to meet and/or talk to Jamie, you know that he is absolutely hilarious," the rep said. "He often jokes around, even in interviews, and has a great sense of humor. For those that haven't spoken to him, you may be confused as to whether or not he was joking when he made these comments. Rest assured, as Chris Weitz's note to you explains, Jamie was just joking."
While Weitz and Summit took it to MTV to clear up the controversy, Bower let out his apology for the joke through his Twitter account. "Apologies for misleading people into thinking that there would be a nude scene in 'New Moon,'" he wrote on a post dated August 1. "Never meant it to offend anyone. Sorry."
In late July, it was reported that "New Moon" will have a nude scene as Jamie Campbell Bower fessed up about the matter to MTV. "We just all sit there, completely naked, for one scene," he told MTV. "Yeah, it's me, Michael Sheen and Christopher [Heyerdahl]; we just sit there, naked." He also mentioned, at the time, that the scene involved fully-clothed Carlisle finding the three Volturi members in a bathhouse.
The nude scene aside, two promotional trading cards from "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" have been found. Each of the cards, scanned by EdwardandBella.net, presents the series' central characters. One gives out Robert Pattinson in his Edward Cullen role, the other features Kristen Stewart as her Bella Swan character.
An adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's second novel in her "Twilight" series, "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" has wrapped up its principal photography. Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen join Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in this "Twilight" sequel. The vampire drama movie is targeting a U.S. release on November 20.
