Filming of 'Tron 2.0' Kicked Off, First On-Set Pic Unveiled

Big screen movie 'Tron 2.0' has begun its filming this week in Vancouver, Canada and it has been claimed that its production costs probably 300 million dollars.

AceShowbiz - The filming of "Tron 2.0" has been kicked off, Slash Film reports. It is claimed further in a report on the site that filming of the upcoming action-adventure movie has been started some time this week in downtown Vancouver, Canada.

"They have been spending some crazy money here. They have been blocking off huge main sections of downtown for some pretty awesome looking action scenes," reader Zach informs Slash Film. "I saw tons of police cars chasing a guy hanging on to the top of a taxi. There were huge cranes holding up a stunt wire rig rig like I have never seen before," Zach goes on detailing.

Zach, furthermore, reveals that he predicts Walt Disney Pictures spend probably $300 million for the filming of the movie. "There is definitely some impressive non light cycle real life action in this movie. They have also transformed the tallest building in the city with huge encom logos and futuristic lighting. I was in total awe of how much equipment and gadgets they had. Everything I've seen them doing in the last five days is easily some of the most expensive stuff I've ever seen," Zach gushes.

In addition to sharing those details, Zach also sends in the particular on-set picture he has described. "I only managed to grab this crappy still with the big logo and some futuristic room above," Zach writes about the shot.

"Tron 2.0" is a sequel of Disney's 1982 cult classic called "Tron". It will be released in U.S. theaters in 2011. The film will stars the likes of Olivia Wilde, Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Beau Garrett, and Bruce Boxleitner.
