The judges gave hunk Gilles Marini a 9-9-9 in the second night of 'Dancing with the Stars', bringing him to be the front runner in the competition.

AceShowbiz - The second night of "Dancing with the Stars" this season began without Steve-O who has hurt his back and has to be hospitalized. The "Jackass" star and his partner Lacey Schwimmer were working on Salsa in the dress rehearsal but he fell on the mic strapped to his back just two hours before the show began. He, however, must stick to the rule and judged based on the dress rehearsal while Lacey danced alone on the floor. The judges gave them 5-4-5, giving it 14 out of 30 and a two-week total of 31 out of 60.

Kicking off the dancing were Holly Madison and Dmitry Chaplin with quickstep. Len complimented her footwork, but still has problem with her posture like last week. Bruno however, thought it was a rushy performance and Carrie advised that they should balance things up. The score was 6-6-6, giving it 18 out of 30 and a two-week total of 36 out of 60.

David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson decided on salsa and choreographed a variable of movements. Bruno and Len both agreed that they lost the rhythm with all the routine, especially the hip work. Carrie simply said that they need more practice. The score was 6-5-6, giving it 17 out of 30 and a two-week total of 36 out of 60.

Denise Richards and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were up next, giving a try on quickstep. They were not impressive last week with the cha cha cha but the judges thought she has made progress this week. Again Bruno said that she needs to work on the leg. The score was 7-7-7, giving it 21 out of 30 and a two-week total of 39 out of 60.

Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts took the stage next, doing salsa. Len wanted her to work on the hip some more, which is crucial on the type of Latin dance. Bruno meanwhile, decided to demonstrate a movement and host Tom Bergeron reached up to the score board and gave him 1. Carrie meanwhile, hoped that Belinda will be more graceful next time. The score was 6-6-6, giving it 18 out of 30 and a two-week total of 35 out of 60.

Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower worked the dance floor with quickstep. What started rather slow, Carrie praised the cowboy for gaining momentum and his posture. Len summarized it as a metamorphosis from last week's performance, to the better. The score was 7-6-7, giving it 20 out of 30 and a two-week total of 34 out of 60.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas did the salsa which was exactly what Len discussed on the nature of being "naughty". The judges wanted her to loosen up and give more of the action. The score was 8-8-8, giving it 24 out of 30 and a two-week total of 47 out of 60.

Steve Wozniak who was photographed wearing a cast earlier last week, showed up with his partner Karina Smirnoff for a quickstep. Although not so much improvement from last week, the judges agreed that it was fun to watch and the computer wiz was particularly charming. The score was 6-5-6, giving it 17 out of 30 and a two-week total of 30 out of 60.

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough brought the salsa, but the judges thought it was not the work of two people. Bruno said it was a performance of Julianne and not so much of Wicks' and Len nodded to this. Carrie criticized that the routine was not a salsa but a mix of other Latin dance. The score was 6-7-7, giving it 20 out of 30 and a two-week total of 40 out of 60.

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska brought the quickstep. Len summed it up with "well done", while Carrie praised his "grace". The score was 7-6-7, giving it 20 out of 30 and a two-week total of 36 out of 60.

After the tape on Steve-O's performance was played, Lil' Kim took the floor with Derek Hough. Opting the quickstep, Bruno labeled it as an uplifting performance while Len thought there was so much quantity but little quality. Carrie reminded them that they were often seen far apart. The score was 8-7-8, giving it 23 out of 30 and a two-week total of 44 out of 60.

Second to last slot belonged to Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani who did salsa. After witnessing other kinds of dance, Carrie declared, "Finally! A real salsa!" The other two judges agreed that it was a juicy salsa. The score was 9-8-9, giving it 26 out of 30 and a two-week total of 49 out of 60.

The highest scorer last week, Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke danced the last with quickstep. The actor was wearing a glasses and revealed a Superman undershirt in the end of the dance. It was basically a performance that the judges gave applaud to. The score was 9-9-9, giving it 27 out of 30 and a two-week total of 51 out of 60.

The bottom two, Steve-O and Lacey as well as Steve and Karina, will have to dance off in order to save themselves from elimination.
