Movie

Rumor has it, Zac Efron may land the lead role as Jonny Quest and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson could be starring as Race Bannon in the live-action film of 'The Adventures of Jonny Quest'.

AceShowbiz - Cartoon classic "The Adventures of Jonny Quest" is likely to be brought to the big screen and words are circulating that it may see Zac Efron and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson among the major cast. IESB has recently come up with a scoop about the two actors' possible team up for the big screen adaptation.

Allegedly, Efron, the star of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", is being considered by Warner Bros. to take on the lead role, Jonny Quest, while The Rock, who is last seen starring in "Race to Witch Mountain" could end up portraying Race Bannon. If The Rock indeed joins the project, he may reunite with director Andy Fickman, whom he worked with on "The Game Plan" and "Witch Mountain".

On his possible involvement with the project, The Rock himself told IESB during "Witch Mountain" junket that he loves the script and working with Fickman, adding that he will be fit for the Race Bannon role. "There's no one else who can be Race Bannon than me. There's no one else. But right now, there are just a couple of tweaks and changes that...," he said nonetheless.

"The Adventures of Jonny Quest" is a live-action adaptation of popular Hanna-Barbera's sci-fi adventure cartoon series. It tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who accompanies his father, Dr. Benton Quest, on extraordinary adventures. However, there is a chance that the movie version will see an older Quest to attract teenage fans.
