Johnny Depp and Sean Penn Linked to 'The Three Stooges'

Rumor has it, the Farrelly brothers want two of Hollywood A-lists, Johnny Depp and Sean Penn, to take the role of Moe and Larry for their modern incarnation of 'The Three Stooges'.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp and Sean Penn have been reported to be considered to star in "The Three Stooges". According to Just Jared, In Touch Magazine has reported that the Farrelly brothers are looking forward to sign the two Hollywood big names as two of the Stooges for their feature film adaptation of the comedy act.

Quoting In Touch's insider of the matter, the gossip site claimed that Johnny could be up for the role of Moe and Sean is most likely be given the Larry character, adding further that the filmmaker brothers haven't got a clue of whom to play Curly. "They want Johnny to play Moe and Sean Penn will be Larry - they're still looking to cast Curly," the quotation from the insider read.

Supporting Just Jared's report, FilmDrunk came up with a story that Billy West, the "The Ren and Stimpy Show" and "Futurama" voice actor, has a meeting with Sean Penn on Wednesday, February 4, and Thursday, February 5. The meetings reportedly will be done so that West can aid Penn in preparing for his Larry impression.

As of news time, none of these reports has been confirmed or denied. However, it was noted that Bobby and Peter Farrelly will start their work on "The Three Stooges" after they are done with their other film with the Jonas Brothers, " Walter the Farting Dog".
