Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks and More Stars Flock to Nora Ephron Memorial Service

The memorial service of filmmaker Nora Ephron held at the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center in New York started out as a somber affair. It quickly turned into a joyous laughter filled event as friends and colleagues fondly remembered her.

Among those who came for the memorial were Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks who starred alongside each other in some of Ephron's films. Other famous attendees included Steven Spielberg, Bette Midler, Steve Martin, Larry David, Shirley McClaine and multitudes of other members of the industry.

'Ice Age 4' Spoofs 'The Dark Knight Rises' in New TV Spot

"The Dark Knight Rises" is parodied in a new TV spot for "Ice Age: Continental Drift". Titled "The Dark Nut", the promotional video sees the saber-toothed squirrel Scrat as a Batman-like superhero who's ready to "rise" and save the day. Riding on a paper plane which resembles the Batmobile, Scart ends up hitting an iceberg and getting eaten by a shark.

In "Ice Age 4", Scrat's reunion with his cursed nut catapults him to places no prehistoric squirrel has gone before. Also in the upcoming film, the famous trio Manny, Diego and Sid will embark on their greatest adventure after cataclysm sets an entire continent adrift.

Beyonce Knowles Pays Tribute to a Fallen Fan, Writes Poem for Frank Ocean

Beyonce Knowles may not tweet, but she actively updates her blog with letters and poems dedicated to people who inspired her with their genuineness and/or honesty as well as bravery. In her two latest postings, she paid homage to one of her loyal fans who was killed by a stray bullet and applauded Frank Ocean who recently came out of the closet.

"My heart breaks to learn of the passing of one of my biggest fans and a loyal member of the BeyHive. Dennis Herbert Tillet was taken in a random act of violence on July 4th when he was shot," the mother of one wrote. She additionally sent her prayers, "My deepest condolences to his family, many friends and loved ones."

'Dexter' Season 7 Promos Suggest an 'Inescapable' Nightmare

"Dexter" has released new promo videos in anticipation of its upcoming seventh season. The two teasers show Dexter and Debra alternately writhing beneath a dark sheet which symbolizes a "worst nightmare." Though presenting similar theme and scene, each promo has different ending.

"It's my worst nightmare. Uncontrollable. Inescapable," so Dexter narrates in the promos. "My dark passenger exposed to the one person I've always thought I could protect from it. The only thing worse than not knowing what she'll do is not knowing what I'll do."

Country trio Pistol Annies have come out with a video for their fun-sounding single, "Takin' Pills". The group do a fun take on the perils of having vices and being a musician. While the song may be upbeat, the lyrics mask the darkness of what the song actually is.

The song narrates what it is like to be touring musicians who are down on their luck. In the chorus, they sing, "We're living on truck stop burgers and fries/ Crossing our fingers for a vacancy sign/ Now who in the hell is gonna pay these bills/ When one's drinking, one's smoking, one's taking pills."

There was no love lost between Kanye West and MediaTakeOut. The web tabloid ran a lot of false stories about the rap mogul including posting alleged steamy photos that featured him and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian. Having had enough, he expressed his anger towards the publication during a concert in the Atlantic City.

"If you have something to give the world, a lot of times the press is trying to take everything negative. Just look at MediaTakeOut, they so f**kin' full of s**t!" the G.O.O.D Music rhymer ranted on stage during the live show at the Revel Resort over the weekend. "Show your motherf**kin' face, so I can smack the s**t out of you!"

Frank Ocean's fans are in for treat. Not only did the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All member make his television debut on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" but he also released his debut album "Channel Orange" early on iTunes.

Host Jimmy Fallon introduced Ocean before the performance, saying that they were very excited to have him and adding that his album was "available on iTunes right now." The audience was then treated to a live performance of "Bad Religion" backed by house band, The Roots.

President Barack Obama's brother makes an appearance in a documentary called "2016: Obama's America", which features straight criticisms toward the U.S. President. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barack's half-brother George Obama opens up about his not-so-close relationship with the President in the feature-length documentary.

The movie itself is based on Dinesh D'Souza's bestselling book "The Roots of Obama's Rage". In the film, Dinesh aims to track down George who reportedly lives in a hut "like something out of 'Slumdog Millionaire' " in Nairobi, Kenya, while his brother becomes one of the most powerful men in the world.

Chris Brown and Drake Brawl Club to Reopen With 'Safe Atmosphere'

Greenhouse, a SoHo nightclub where Chris Brown and Drake were involved in a nasty fight at its basement lounge W.i.P., is going to reopen Tuesday, July 10. "We will be focused on providing a safe and fun atmosphere for our customers," a rep for its owners said in a statement.

The owners filed complaint against New York City after the club was shut down following the scuffle. The plaintiffs argued that the city violated an agreement requiring it to follow a certain procedure if it wished to close the Manhattan hotspot.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' Film Hires 'Social Network' Producers

Though it still hasn't cast any actors to play Ana and Christian, "Fifty Shades of Grey" has found a pair who will serve as its producers. On Monday, July 9, Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced that "The Social Network" producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti have won the bidding war to produce the much-talked-about movie.

Both De Luca and Brunetti, who also produced another Oscar-nominated pic "Moneyball", were hand chosen by author E.L. James herself. A number of notable producers have previously approached the project including Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment.

"The Wolverine" has finally found its villain. Koren-American actor Will Yun Lee has been cast as the film's major bad guy, The Silver Samurai. In addition to Lee, The Hollywood Reporter shares that Brian Tee has been tapped to play another villainous character, Noburo Mori.

The Silver Samurai, whose real name is Kenuichio Harada, is described as an illegitimate son of the crime lord. He is best known for his electrified suit of samurai armor. Mori, meanwhile, is a corrupt minister of justice who wants to marry yakuza crime lord's daughter, who is also said to be Wolverine's love interest.

Usher's Family Friend Under Investigation After Stepson Accident

The man who rode the jet ski striking Kyle Glover, the son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster, and another teen has been identified. A family friend, 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard of Atlanta, is under investigation over the accident that left the 11-year-old boy brain dead.

"One minute the jet ski was running around, the next he ran over the top of them. It happened that quickly," Sgt. Mike Burgamy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told New York Daily News. "It appears the watercraft did strike both juveniles, with the male taking the brunt of the force."

After a negotiation through their lawyers, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have reached a settlement. The former couple released a joint statement that they are focused on protecting their only daughter together, six-year-old Suri.

"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests.
