'Newsroom' Creator Insists Jeff Daniels' Character Isn't Based on Keith Olbermann

Before "The Newsroom" launches this weekend, Aaron Sorkin has set things straight about the inspiration behind Jeff Daniels' Will McAvoy. While the actor's portrayal of the outspoken character leaves an impression that it is based on real-life journalist Keith Olbermann, the writer claimed it's not the case.

"I'm glad I can finally clear this up," so the man who creates the new HBO series said at a Time Warner Center premiere on Monday, June 18. "I didn't base it on him." Of how the speculation started, Sorkin said, "It was during an interview with the BBC that I mentioned him, and, suddenly, it blew up. So blame the BBC!"

First Teaser for 'Monsters University' Premiered

Sulley and his gang from "Monsters, Inc." have returned in a first ever teaser for "Monsters University". This time, the friendly furry blue monster takes his hilarious gang to college. Instead of studying, however, they throw a rave party in what looks like a dormitory. The only one who looks so serious about the college thing is the green monster Mike.

James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski are an inseparable pair, but that wasn't always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. The upcoming movie will unlock the door to how Sulley and Mike overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

The "Fashion Police" judge dropped by "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to promote her new book "I Hate Everyone, Starting with Me", and she managed to mock the female judge of "The Voice" in the process. The comedian made fun of Xtina's weight.

"Christina Aguilera, we mentioned that she was fat. I think the joke was, 'Cows tip her'," Joan told Jimmy Fallon. "So, I'm in a restaurant, I'm in Spagos with Melissa (my daughter), we're eating dinner and fatso is along the way, she comes lumbering over to my table with that no-neck look, she comes over and says, 'You gonna finish that?'."

Paul Verhoeven to Adapt Controversial Book 'Jesus of Nazareth' to the Big Screen

While Darren Aronofsky gets ready to film "Noah" and Ridley Scott as well as Steven Spielberg plan each of their Moses films, filmmaker Paul Verhoeven is preparing to make a feature film about Jesus Christ. The planned biblical film will be based on Verhoeven's controversial book "Jesus of Nazareth".

According to Deadline, Verhoeven, who helmed the original "RoboCop", was backed by Chris Hanley who will finance the ambitious project. The script, meanwhile, will be provided by Roger Avary, who won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay thanks to his work in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction".

Adele's music has helped create a miracle for a comatose girl. Charlotte Neve, a seven-year-old girl who was fighting for her life following a brain hemorrhage, woke up from a week-long coma after listening to her mother singing the Grammy Award winner's hit "Rolling in the Deep".

Doctors had told Charlotte to prepare to say a final goodbye when her mother, Leila, "climbed into her hospital bed to give her a cuddle." The mother recalled, "She was wired up to machines and unresponsive - and Adele came on the radio."

Channing Tatum flaunts his freestyle-dancing skill in a first clip of "Magic Mike". Introduced on stage by Matthew McConaughey, Tatum makes ladies hysterical as he starts to bust some elaborate dance moves and slowly strips off his clothes. Cody Horn is also seen watching Tatum's performance but she doesn't seem to be impressed by it.

In "Magic Mike", Tatum stars as Mike Matingano, who takes a young dancer named the Kid as his protege. Mike teaches the newbie some fine arts of partying, picking up ladies and making easy money. Also joining him in the cast ensemble are Alex Pettyfer, Olivia Munn, Joe Manganiello, Matthew Bomer and Riley Keough.

Kevin Costner Sued by Neighbor for Blocking Beach View

Breathing a sigh of relief after escaping from a potential multi-million dollar legal battle, Kevin Costner is now hit with another lawsuit. This time around, the "Mr. Brooks" lead actor is sued by Rick Grimm, his neighbor in Carpinteria, CA, for blocking the man's beach view.

In the legal documents, Grimm said he bought a beach property which was coincidentally located behind Costner's house. However, he couldn't enjoy the beautiful scenery because the 57-year-old actor allegedly blocked the view by planting a number of trees around his pad.

Ray Romano has signed on for "Parenthood". The voice cast member of "Ice Age" film franchise scores a multi-episode arc on the family comedy series, playing "a photographer and former photo journalist who befriends Sarah (Lauren Graham) and complicates her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter)."

The lead actor of "Everybody Loves Raymond" will make his first appearance in the season 4 premiere of the Peter Krause-starring series. The show itself is slated to return with all-new episodes starting Tuesday, September 11 at 10 P.M. ET.

Two of HBO's hit series, "Game of Thrones" and "True Blood", are going to take part at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. The former show will hold a panel on Friday, July 13 in the largest room at the convention, Hall H. The latter, meanwhile, is coming Saturday, July 14 in Ballroom 20.

Good news also comes for "Community" fans as the show is reportedly slated to head to Comic-Con. There's still no official announcement regarding the NBC show's panel, but TVLine has learned that the entire Greendale gang will show up at the event.

Kyle Massey Sues Bristol Palin's New Reality Show, Claims His Idea Was Stolen

Bristol Palin's new reality series "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" has been slapped with a lawsuit. Kyle Massey, his brother Christopher and mother Angela have sued Associated Television International (ATI), the company that produces the show, and its head David McKenzie, for being cut out after coming up with the original idea for the show.

In the 31-page lawsuit which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, June 19, the Masseys claim they helped McKenzie and his company produce a series for Bio Channel, but then "McKenzie and his team cut out the Masseys and fraudulently re-packaged the show solely as Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, even though the concept is the same idea originally created and produced by the Masseys."

'Sesame Street' to Get Big Screen Treatment From 20th Century Fox

Following the big success of "The Muppets", a feature film related to the iconic puppet film is ready to hit the big screen as well. It has been reported that 20th Century Fox is currently developing a feature film based on classic children's TV series "Sesame Street".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has obtained the movie rights to the long-running TV show and has hired longtime "Sesame Street" scribe Joey Mazzarino as the screenwriter. No director has been attached to the project, but "Real Steel" helmer Shawn Levy is set to produce the film along with Michael Aguilar, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady.

Detectives have completed investigation into an altercation between Justin Bieber and a paparazzo, and their findings have been handed over to the district attorney. According to LA Times, Los Angeles County prosecutors are reviewing the case to decide whether to move forward and press charges or drop the case entirely.

It's unclear how long it would take for the D.A. to make a decision. It's also unclear what charges Bieber could possibly face, but an earlier report from TMZ suggested the teen singer could face up to 6 months in jail if he's charged and convicted of the alleged crime.

"She [Stewart] is an up-and-coming star," says Forbes L.A. bureau chief Dorothy Pomerantz. "She is earning a lot of money from one of the most successful franchises of all time. This is who you would expect to see right now. This year you are seeing somebody young and at the brink of potentially great stardom sitting on the top of the list."

Bane arrives in Gotham city eight years after the infamous Harvey Dent case in "The Dark Knight". Wreaking havoc in the city and pushing its police force to their limits, the antagonist forces Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Dent's crimes.

According to PEOPLE, the separation announcement purposefully coincided with Paradis' trip to France to promote her new movie "Je Me Suis Fait Tout Petit" at the Cabourg Festival of Romantic Cinema. "It was all decided before she got on that plane," a source said.
