Padma Lakshmi and Adam Dell Reach the Middle in Baby Battle

Padma Lakshmi's baby daddy has successfully added his famous last name on the child's. Adam Dell, the brother of computer honcho Michael Dell, won the battle to recognize him as the biological father of Padma's two years old daughter, who is now known as Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell.

Padma previously denied Adam visitation and custody rights, saying that the biological father of Khrisna was her former lover, billionaire Teddy Frostmann, who died last November and left the tot a sum of money. DNA tests proved that Adam was the father, prompting the wealthy venture capitalist to have some intervention in the baby girl's life.

Lisa Marie Presley Announces First Album in Five Years

Lisa Marie Presley announced that her first album in five years would be released on May 15 via Universal Republic/XIX Recordings. Produced by T Bone Burnett, "Storm and Grace" was recorded at The Village Studios in Los Angeles after Lisa got the inspiration from a trip to England.

Lisa, Elvis Presley's only daughter, goes back to her "southern roots" on this album. "Nothing was planned or contrived in any way and out of it came a very organic record that was always inside of me and that I am incredibly proud of," she said in a statement. "It was a dream come true and such an honor when T Bone liked the songs and produced and played on the record."

According to Twitch, Gyllenhaal has turned down the offer and now director Albert Hughes has set his eyes on Jeremy Renner to fill Gyllenhaal's shoes.

It was said that Renner has just entered a discussion with Hughes about playing the lead character in the revenge drama. "The Hurt Locker" actor himself is currently in talks to lead Ridley Scott's "The Counselor". Should he join Scott's high-end thriller, he wouldn't be available for the next few months while Hughes has planned to begin filming in May.

Brand was accused of the phone-tossing incident on Monday. A paparazzi by the name of Timothy Jackson filed a police report against the "Rock of Ages" star, alleging that the actor wrestled his phone out of his hand and threw it away out of anger. "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" will not only present Alex and co.'s adventure in Europe, but it will also have its world premiere in the continent. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that DreamWorks Animation has planned to debut the comedy pic during the prestigious 65th annual Cannes Film Festival in May.

The Eric Darnell-directed animated movie is the first major studio title to surface in connection with this year's Cannes, which is commonly used to introduce summer tentpole movies. DreamWorks is expected to release an official statement about the premiere plan in the coming days.

Academy Announces Date for 2013 Oscars Ceremony

Two and a half weeks after organizing the 84th Annual Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced the fixed date for next year's Oscars. On Wednesday, March 14, the association confirmed that its 85th edition of the prestigious awards will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013.

"The ceremony will take place at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network to more than 225 countries," the AMPAS said in a statement. The shortlisted nominations, meanwhile, are scheduled to be revealed on Tuesday, January 15.

Charlize Theron can now add mother to her resume. The Josey Aimes of "North Country" has followed in the footsteps of another Hollywood single lady Sandra Bullock in adopting a child. There is a whisper out there that Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson (II) will name their upcoming baby girl Maxwell. Simpson, who can give birth any days now, previously revealed in the new issue of Elle magazine that they have decided on a "nontraditional" name for the tot.

A so-called "family friend" leaked the name to In Touch, saying Jessica and Eric "are going to call [their baby] Maxwell, Maxi for short." Indeed, Maxwell is Eric's middle name and also his grandmother's maiden name. "Jessica wanted a name with meaning," the friend added.

Madonna Fires Back Against Malawian Government's Protest

A representative of Global Philanthropy Group has responded to Malawian government's protest about Madonna's plans to build 10 schools in the impoverished African nation. Trevor Neilson said there is no truth in the accusation that Madonna skipped the necessary authorization and discussion of her projects for Malawi.

"This is simply not true," Neilson said in a statement released by Madonna's spokesperson. "The government of Malawi has been fully updated on Madonna's effort to provide funding for ten schools to be built in communities where there are no schools." Neilson also said that Madonna's Raising Malawi organization had communicated with Malawi's Minister of Education. Non-profit organization buildOn had also cleared all plans for school construction with the local officials.
