Breaking: Etta James Passed Away Surrounded by Family

After a series of health problems, singer Etta James took her last breath on Friday, January 20 morning at a hospital in Riverside, California, surrounded by her husband, Artis Mills, and her son. The legendary singer died from complications from leukemia and also suffered dementia and hepatitis C. She was 73.

"This is a tremendous loss for the family, her friends and fans around the world," her manager Lupe De Leon told CNN. "She was a true original who could sing it all - her music defied category. I worked with Etta for over 30 years. She was my friend and I will miss her always."

"Grey's Anatomy" star Sarah Drew has finally become a mother. The actress, who plays Dr. April Kepner in the drama TV series, gave birth to her first child with husband Peter Lanfer in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, January 18.

Drew, through her representative, told Us Weekly that she delivered a baby boy, who weighed in at 7 lbs, 4 oz and was 19 inches long at time of birth. The rep said of the happy couple, "She and her husband, Peter Lanfer, are in love with him." They named the baby Micah Emmanuel Lanfer.

Johnny Otis, the godfather of Rhythm and Blues, has passed away at the age of 90. The musician, who wrote and recorded R&B classic "Willie and the Hand Jive", died Tuesday, January 17 at his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Altadena. Otis' manager Terry Gould confirmed news of his passing.

Gould additionally noted that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had been in poor health for several years. The R&B legend's friend and music historian Tom Reed, meanwhile, told Reuters in his memory, "His role in pop and rock'n'roll music made him a legend, he could do it all. He is one of the greatest talents of American music and he was a great American."

Once again Lady GaGa is up for Outstanding Music Artist after winning the same title in the 2010 presentation. She is now competing against Beverly McClellan, Girl in a Coma, Hunx and His Punx, and MEN.

"Glee" is again nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series along with "Modern Family". The musical series won the prize in 2010 but "Family" stole it the next year. They will duke it out against "The Big C", "Happy Endings" and "Exes and Ohs".
