'The Artist' and 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' Among 2012 BAFTA Awards Nominees

The nominations for the 2012 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards have been announced. "The Artist" leads the pack by grabbing 12 nominations in total. They include Best Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director as well as Best Actor and Actress.

Trailing closely behind the critically acclaimed French silent drama is "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", which receives 11 noms in total. The thriller movie is also set to compete against "The Artist", "The Descendants" and "Drive" in the Best Film category. Additionally, it is also nominated for Outstanding British Film, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay among others.

First Trailer for Family Drama 'The Eye of the Storm' Debuted

The first trailer for "The Eye of the Storm" has arrived. Featuring Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush and Golden Globe-winning actress Judy Davis, the promotional video highlights a family problem that happens in the Hunter family that lives in the Sydney suburb of Centennial Park.

It sees two nurses, a housekeeper and a solicitor attending to Elizabeth Hunter (Charlotte Rampling) as her expatriate son and daughter convene at her deathbed. But in dying, as in living, Mrs. Hunter remains a powerful force on those who surround her.

Betty White Gets Roasted by A-List Stars on 90th Birthday Bash

Having spent the last few decades in her life entertaining people, Betty White was saluted by fellow artists at her 90th birthday celebration which was aired on NBC. In "Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl", the likes of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Joel McHale, Hugh Jackman and Morgan Freeman amused the Golden Girl with their jokes.

Fey noted that White only gave her advice about posing nude, while McHale hosted an impromptu version of "Password". Seth Meyers and Tracy Morgan also took part in the roast, joking that the nice little old lady White was actually stealing a bunch of property from "30 Rock".

Jesse Metcalfe reportedly has taken his relationship with his girlfriend, Cara Santana, to the next level. The John Rowland depicter in "Desperate Housewives" has got engaged to the aspiring actress, according to Us Weekly.

A source told the publication, "Metcalfe and Santana have been dating for four to five years and living together for at least three." A representative of the "John Tucker Must Die" actor, however, declined to comment on the rumor. "We don't comment on clients' personal lives," so the rep said.

Steven Tyler is opening up about his recent engagement to longtime girlfriend Erin Brady. Dropping by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Tuesday, January 17, the "American Idol" judge told host Ellen DeGeneres how he knew she is the one for him, and it apparently involved him being tied up with a scarf.

"The first time I saw her...she worked for Clear Channel so she was paying the band," the 63-year-old recalled. "And I didn't notice her and one night she had on this hair band on around her head. She looked really old fashion...So I took her back in the room and she tied me up with it and I thought I'm marrying this girl. Exactly that way [laughing]."

The "Whataya Want From Me" hitmaker filmed the video earlier this month. "We wrapped just before 4am! An intense 20 HOUR day!! Thanks to the amazing crew! Can't wait to share," he tweeted before thanking the director, "@Ray_Kay thanks for everything!! Can't wait to see it!!"

Fresh off the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, a number of TV shows are now in the running for prizes from American Cinema Editors (ACE). In the list of nominees for the 62nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards, the likes of "The Walking Dead" and "Homeland" emerge as the recipients.

The AMC zombie-themed show is up for Best Edited One-Hour Series for Commercial Television, facing off "The Good Wife" and the canceled "Friday Night Lights". "Breaking Bad", however, has a bigger chance to win since it grabs two nominations in the category.

Abram's highly anticipated "Star Trek" sequel, words have run wild that he is set to take on the role of a major villain which has been turned down by Benicio Del Toro. The 35-year-old actor himself, however, suggested that he might not get the bad guy role after all.

Speaking to MTV News on the red carpet of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, the actor playing Major Stewart in Steven Spielberg's "War Horse" said, "I don't think we do know that, actually." He stressed that the report claiming that he will tackle the antagonist was "just supposition," adding, "And that's all I'm going to say about it."

A representative for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has just confirmed news of Evans' arrest. While details surrounding her arrest are unclear, it is said the troubled 20-year-old was busted for violating a domestic violence protective order. She is currently in custody with no bond or bail.

He added, "I felt he was so much like who I am as a person that I was like, 'If I don't get it, I won't understand.' It drove me crazy."

ACE Eddie Awards 2012 Movie Nominees Include 'Hugo', 'Bridesmaids' and 'Rango'

Just a day after the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards revealed its winners, the 62nd annual American Cinema Editors' Eddie Awards announced its nominees in movie field. Among those which are set to compete at the awards are Martin Scorsese's adventure drama "Hugo", Paul Feig's romantic comedy "Bridesmaids", and Gore Verbinski's animated feature "Rango".

"Hugo" is nominated for the Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) along with some other strong competitors, including "Moneyball" and "The Descendants", which has just been named the Best Drama at the Golden Globes. "Bridesmaids", meanwhile, is set to face up against "My Week with Marilyn" and potential Oscar contender "The Artist" for the Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy or Musical) award.

Kid Rock has issued some sort of an apology for smoking a cigar at a non-smoking venue. The "All Summer Long" rocker drew complaints from fellow concertgoers when he lit the cigar 15 minutes into Travis Tritt's concert at Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren, Michigan on Friday, January 13.

One of the attendees who demanded the rocker to stop smoking was Randy Snell, the Detroit News reported. The 58-year-old registered nurse plans to file a complaint with the health department, explaining, "It's a violation of a state law, and people paid good money to come to a non-smoking venue, but they were not treated to a non-smoking venue. Special privileges were extended in disregarding the law."

Kasey Kahl of 'Bachelor Pad' Not Charged for Drunken Disturbance Arrest, Rep Insists

Kasey Kahl has a run-in with the law. The former suitor on "The Bachelorette" was arrested at approximately 2:47 A.M. on Sunday, January 15 at Club Habanos for a drunk and disorderly conduct, the Fresno Sheriff's Department told E! Online. His representative, however, begged to differ.

"Kasey and his friends were hanging out outside of the club where police officers allegedly thought they were being too loud," publicist Richard Harlow informed the press. "Kasey, along with a couple friends, were taken to the police station, but were released a couple hours later. No charges were or have been filed against him."
