Hollywood icon Dame Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79. The actress, who was suffering from congestive heart failure, passed away in Los Angeles in the early hours of Wednesday morning (Mar 23, 2011) with her children by her side.

Her son, Michael Wilding, confirmed the sad news and paid tribute to his late mother in a statement, which reads, "My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humour, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world.

Sharon Osbourne has ruled out a role on Simon Cowell's "The X Factor (US)" show, because the music mogul thinks she's too opinionated. Cowell has lined up British pop star Cheryl Cole and producer-record label boss Antonio "L.A" Reid as judges on his new American TV talent show venture, and reports suggest The Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger is a favorite to host the show.

That means there's one more space for a celebrity judge, and Osbourne knows it won't be her or daughter Kelly Osbourne.

John Lennon's Imagine Peace Tower is lighting up the skies over Iceland again, to celebrate the former The Beatles star's marriage to Yoko Ono. The beam-of-light art installation on Vioey Island in Reykjavik was launched by Ono in 2010 to mark Lennon's birth and the anniversary of his death.

It was shut off in December 2010, but the beam lit up the sky once again to commemorate what would have been Lennon and Ono's 42nd wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 20. Ashley Greene is back to encourage teens to donate their prom dresses. The "Twilight" beauty has been named again for the third time to be the official spokesperson for DonateMyDress.org, an organization that helps girls in need of finding prom dresses.

Recalling her moments at school, Greene spilled to People magazine that she had to go through difficulties to have a prom dress. "In high school, I had to work several jobs to save enough to buy a prom dress," so the 24-year-old actress said. "It was so worth it: I had a blast at prom! Troubled rapper Ja Rule is facing more prison time after pleading guilty to evading taxes on income amounting to more than $3 million. The count stems from money earned between 2004 and 2006.

Two other charges against the star for unpaid taxes in 2007 and 2008 were dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, will learn his fate in the case when he is sentenced in June.

A father accused of attacking British TV star Elliott Tittensor has pleaded guilty to the offense after admitting he "lost his temper". John Flint was arrested in November 2010 after allegedly punching Tittensor outside a London court just minutes after the "Shameless" star was fined $1,200 for his part in a car accident which left Flint's son Oliver with serious injuries.

The teenager was hurt when Tittensor's car crashed into him in August 2010, although an attempted murder investigation was dropped and the star was charged with driving without insurance. John Flint appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 22, and admitted to a charge relating to fear or provocation of violence.

The movie was initially named after the play which it is based on, "God of Carnage". A judge in Britain has ordered the plaintiffs in an ongoing "Harry Potter" plagiarism lawsuit to pay a massive $2.4 million if they want to continue the case. Paul Allen, the trustee of late writer Adrian Jacobs' estate, filed suit against "Potter" author J.K. Rowling and her U.K. publishers Bloomsbury back in 2009, alleging her 2000 novel "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was based on Jacobs' "Willy The Wizard" stories.

Last year, High Court judge Justice David Kitchin refused a request from Rowling's lawyers to have the case dismissed, even though he admitted a victory for Allen would be "improbable". Kitchin has now ordered Allen to pay 65 per cent of the court costs faced by Rowling and Bloomsbury if he wants to continue the case.

A British screenwriter is taking legal action in a bid to stop Disney bosses releasing the upcoming sequel to hit animated film "Cars", alleging they stole the original movie's concept from his work in the 1990s. Jake Mandeville-Anthony has filed a lawsuit against studio chiefs at Disney and Pixar, claiming the 2006 box office hit is based on two screenplays which he submitted to a number of production companies back in 1993.

He allegedly created Cookie & Co., based on the experiences of real life racing driver Michael Owen Perkins, and a second screenplay called "Cars", which included animated car character descriptions and sketches. Mandeville-Anthony claims he sent his ideas to both Disney and Lucasfilm, which has long-standing links to Pixar.

Chris Brown has debuted a new music video in support of his Benny Benassi-featuring single "Beautiful People" on March 22. The R&B performer fills the video with some of his personal footage and candid moments including the ones which see him dancing in a car and hitting studio with his famous pals.

The video was premiered on the day his new album "F.A.M.E." made its way out in the United States. The likes of Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beatz, Nelly, The Game, Bow Wow, Tyga, Estelle, Brandy, Omarion and Timbaland make cameos in this clip.
