Peter Jackson will team up with RED Digital Cinema to produce "The Hobbit" in 3-D. The company has announced on Sunday, November 28 that the director will use at least 30 of their soon to be released EPIC digital cameras to shoot two parts of "Hobbit" in 3-D.

The successor to RED's industry changing RED ONE, the EPIC is said a smaller, lighter camera that is an order of magnitude more powerful. Jackson has some words about the cameras, saying "I find the picture quality [of RED cameras] appealing and attractive, and with the Epic, Jim and his team have gone even further."

Following Digital Life Sacrifice campaign which was launched earlier this week, Kim Kardashian lends her famous face for a promotional ad of Alicia Keys' initiative, Keep a Child Alive. The reality TV star is seen lying in a coffin with tagline "Kim Kardashian Is Dead".

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has condemned the deliberate burning of a mosque in Oregon after it was linked to an alleged terror suspect. The Def Jam co-founder was horrified after police in the U.S. state confirmed that the Salman Alfarisi Islamic Center in Corvallis was specifically targeted in the early hours of Sunday, November 28 morning.

Charlie Sheen's estranged wife Brooke Mueller has dismissed reports she checked into rehab on America's Thanksgiving holiday. Mueller entered into a treatment facility in California in February in a bid to deal with personal issues, following her Christmas Day 2009 bust-up with her actor husband in Aspen, Colorado.

After a short spell in the clinic, Mueller returned home to Los Angeles, but reports emerged over the weekend suggesting she had spent Thanksgiving morning in rehab as part of her ongoing treatment for stress management issues.

Veteran British actor Sir Michael Gambon was honored for his longstanding stage career at the annual London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday, November 28 night. The "Harry Potter" star made his debut in the West End in the 1960s and has carried on appearing in live productions while working in films - and he landed the prestigious Lebedev Special Award to mark his career on the stage.

Leslie Nielsen, the funnyman who is well known for his somber demeanor and stone-serious face in comedies "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun", has just passed away. The 84-year-old actor died on Sunday, November 28 at a hospital near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

"We are saddened by the passing of beloved actor Leslie Nielsen, probably best remembered as Lt. Frank Drebin in 'The Naked Gun' series of pictures, but who enjoyed a more than 60-year career in motion pictures and television," his agent John. S. Kelly said in a statement.

Take That have proven their staying power at the top of the U.K. albums chart after fending off competition from fellow boybands JLS and Westlife to make it two weeks at number one. Pop star Pink is refusing to completely give up alcohol during her pregnancy, as she's convinced the occasional drink is "good for you". The singer is expecting a baby with her husband Carey Hart and she is due to become a mother for the first time in the spring 2011.

But the "So What" star is still indulging in the odd glass of booze, as she doesn't want to deprive herself while she is pregnant. She tells Britain's The Sun, "I'm pretty disciplined, when it's time to play I play, when it's time to work I work, and when it's time to be careful I'll be careful. It's (an occasional drink is) good for you. There's a whole manual that's six foot deep filled with things you can't do."

U.K. hip-hop stars N-Dubz had to fight to keep British slang in the lyrics for their new songs - because the phrases totally baffled their American producers. The band have recorded a new U.S.-friendly album called "Love. Live. Life.", which they hope will launch their career Stateside. Singer Lily Allen has toned down a foul-mouthed rant at a journalist on Twitter.com after the female columnist threatened to call in her lawyers. The "Smile" hitmaker branded British journalist Katie Nicholl a "lying c**t" in the astonishing outburst, after Nicholl wrote a report claiming Allen is planning to marry her partner Sam Cooper next year.

Actress Patsy Kensit has been voted off "Strictly Come Dancing", just days after crediting the British reality show with helping to heal the heartache of her fourth marriage breakdown. The "Lethal Weapon 2" star admitted earlier this week she was convinced the intense training for the series was what she needed to take her mind off her separation from DJ Jeremy Healy in April this year.

Troubled Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark" encountered a last-minute problem on Saturday, November 27 when the production's only full rehearsal was canceled ahead of its first preview performance on Sunday, November 28.

The play, directed by Julie Taymor and featuring music by U2's Bono and The Edge, has suffered numerous setbacks in recent months as producers scrambled to solve a series of technical and safety issues and the launch date was recently pushed back until January 2011. In the past few weeks, HBO has been introducing its new series "Game of Thrones" in a faster pace, and over the weekend, it released a new trailer as well as a behind-the-scene video. The trailer gives away a startling scene where Sean Bean's Eddard Stark beheads a runaway with his sword in the presence of a child.

"Game of Thrones" is based on epic fantasy series of the same name by George R. R. Martin. It is a tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and bastards, who come together in a time of grim omens. And it mainly chronicles battle for the throne of King Robert Baratheon of Westeros.

Michael Bay has spoken up to convince that "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is not in post-production trouble. Soon after it was said that the movie has problem with the scenes shot in 3-D, the helmer takes it to his official website to debunk the story.

"Wow, I read these morons on the internet who think they are in the know. 'We have have problems with our 3D????' Really?" he begins his statement. "Come into my edit room and I will show you beautiful 3D. There has never been a live action show that has pushed the boundaries of 3D like Transformers 3. We shot the entire movie with 3D cameras."

Country legend Willie Nelson has been charged with marijuana possession following his Friday, November 26 morning arrest in Texas. The singer's tour bus was pulled over by Border Patrol police at a Sierra Blanca checkpoint and an officer embarked on a search of the vehicle after reportedly smelling pot.

Six ounces (170 grams) of marijuana was found and Nelson, along with two other people, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession. The 77 year old was booked in Hudspeth County Jail and posted $2,500 bail.

Pregnant pop star Pink has put her rowdy days behind her now she's expecting, but she misses "scrapping" as she hasn't had a "real good fight" in years. The feisty singer is preparing to become a mother for the first time with her husband Carey Hart, and is settling down into family life.

Pink is adamant she has calmed down a lot in recent years, but still yearns for an explosive argument because life can become "boring" without the odd punch-up. She tells Britain's The Sun, "A real good fight - it's been years. And you know what? I miss it, I really miss scrapping. I've become quite boring in my old age. I stopped getting in fights, I stopped beating people up."

Australian singer Peter Andre took to the stage on Sunday, November 28, just two days after undergoing an emergency operation to treat "excruciating" stomach pains. Usher and Keys got the most gongs, collecting two prizes each. British singer Lily Allen has launched a bitter online attack at a U.K. journalist who reported the star is planning to marry next year to help her overcome the loss of her baby. The "Smile" hitmaker was left devastated after losing her unborn son six months into her pregnancy in October.

Johnny Depp has banned phones from his house in France to ensure his private time with his family is uninterrupted. He tells Britain's The Sun, "When I'm at our house in France I totally cut myself off from the rest of the world. I never have to listen to phones ringing and that's because - and Vanessa would confirm this - phones are banned from the house."

Lindsay Lohan will not be short of job offers once she leaves rehab as she has been inundated with scripts in recent months, according to a producer pal. The "Mean Girls" star is currently serving out a three-month court-ordered stay at California's Betty Ford Clinic and she will continue to receive treatment at the facility until January 2011.

Her most recent trip to rehab has cost her a role in "Inferno", an upcoming biopic of porn star Linda Lovelace, with the film's director Matthew Wilder insisting he had to drop Lohan from the project as her personal problems made it "impossible" to secure insurance.

This Thanksgiving holiday has ended with a victory for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" at North American Box Office. The movie earns $49.1 million during the latest three days' ticket sales, bringing its domestic gross total to $219 million. Though the number shows a 60.7% decline from the previous result, it is enough to block some new entries from taking the top spot.

But "Tangled" is not to be underestimated for it follows the wizard movie on number two with a short gap. The family animation has a strong opening weekend with $48.8 million, making a current domestic revenue of $68.7 million since it debuted on Wednesday, November 24.

Keri Hilson's "The Way You Love Me" music video has been debuted, featuring her with JoJo (Boots), Faith Evans (Danja) and Dawn Richard (Money). Together, they work their charm on the boys including Rick Ross, Columbus Short and Polow Da Don.

The song is recorded for Hilson's upcoming second studio album "No Boys Allowed" which is coming out across the United States on December 21. The star-studded music video comes from the direction hands of Laurieann Gibson.

Alicia Keys has successfully urged her celebrity friends to quit Twitter and make it worthwhile at the same time. From Lady GaGa to Kim Kardashian, a number of stars have joined Keys' initiative to raise money for charity by quitting the microblogging site as well as Facebook for a period of time.

Called Digital Life Sacrifice, the campaign would see the entertainers ditching the digital world starting Wednesday, December 1 aka World AIDS day until they raise a million dollars for Keys' AIDS charity, Keep a Child Alive. In addition, they would also film "last tweet and testament" videos and appear in ads that show them lying in coffins to reflect what they mean by "digital deaths".
