Lawyers for the pair accused of attempting to bribe John Stamos with compromising photos are calling for the actor's private life to be scrutinized in court. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Michigan residents Scott Sippola and Allison Coss on an extortion charge on December 2, 2009 after they allegedly threatened to release snaps of the ER star unless he handed over $680,000.

Coss and Sippola were released on bond on December 3, 2009, but in April this year authorities charged the pair with using interstate commerce to make the threat. Federal prosecutors have insisted the photos don't exist and that the star's private life should not be discussed when the trial hits the courtroom on July 12.

Leona Lewis' ex-boyfriend is chasing a $2.25 million pay-out following their split last month, according to U.K. reports. The "Bleeding Love" singer, who shot to fame after winning Simon Cowell's U.K. talent show "The X Factor", allegedly broke up with her childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa after struggling to juggle their romance with her hectic work schedule.

The pair has known each other since they were 10 years old and dated for more than a decade. And according to Britain's The Sun, Al-Chamma wants a huge settlement for aiding the singer's rise to superstardom. The publication reports that despite Lewis offering him their $900,000 London home, he also wants a chunk of her fortune.

A new full trailer for "Machete" has been unleashed via IGN. Featuring some flashback scenes from Machete's past, the trailer is filled with a lot of action sequence as the characters, from sexy nurses to a priest, pick up their guns to get rid of their enemies. Based on the fake trailer in Robert Rodriguez's "Grindhouse", the feature film follows Machete, a Mexican ex-Federal agent with a gift for wielding a blade. Roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez, Machete reluctantly takes an offer from spin doctor Benz to assassinate McLaughlin a corrupt Senator.

Zac Efron's publicist has been forced to dismiss ongoing rumours the "High School Musical" star is preparing to propose to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. The pair has been together for five years, and recently they were forced to deny they were househunting for their first home together.

"Twilight" saga star Ashley Greene has been honored with a new award from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for signing on as the new face of Avon cosmetics. The animal rights organization honors Greene with the 2010 PETA Kind Choices Award.

Avon was the first major cosmetics company to adopt a cruelty-free policy and has ended all animal testing of its products and ingredients since 1989. For teaming up with the cosmetic company, which also has a foundation to work against breast cancer, PETA spokeswoman Amanda Schinke told WENN that Greene will receive a framed certificate and a card signed by PETA staffers.

Days shy of its season 4 premiere, it looks like that the entire soundtracks from "Hannah Montana" upcoming season have made their way out. The leaked songs include the ones which have Miley Cyrus teaming up with Iyaz, Sheryl Crow and Emily Osment.

Retitled "Hannah Montana Forever", the Disney Channel series will kick off the fourth and final season this coming Sunday, July 11 with "Sweet Home Hannah Montana". This episode will follow the Stewarts as they move onto a new ranch home.

Edward Norton has landed an environmentally friendly new role - the actor's been appointed the United Nations' goodwill ambassador for biodiversity. Rihanna has been forced to scrap another date on her U.S. tour due to poor ticket sales. The "Umbrella" hitmaker axed the launch show of her Last Girl On Earth Tour with Ke$ha last week. Her tour promoters blamed changes in production for the cancellation.

But the jaunt has been hit hard again - her show at Indiana's Verizon Wireless Music Center on August 3 has been called off, according to ticketing websites. It is believed poor sales figures have forced the move.

Derek Hough is convinced singer Cheryl Cole's malaria diagnosis is "all his fault" - because he jetted the star off to Africa, according to the dancer's stepfather. The Girls Aloud beauty has been in hospital since collapsing at the weekend and being diagnosed with the deadly mosquito-borne disease.

The man behind Lady GaGa's phenomenal success has urged new acts to have patience and work hard to become 'overnight sensations'. Svengali Troy Carter insists his colourful client is the perfect example of how hard work and hits can turn a hopeful into a somebody, and he fears too many current acts break into the big time too quickly and fizzle out just as fast.

He tells CelebrityAccess, "She (GaGa) has put in the work. She has really put in the work. This was years in the making. GaGa has a work ethic. GaGa hustles. She understands all of that. One of the problems now is that we have a very lazy business."

Country star LeAnn Rimes has become the latest star to announce she's taking a break from 'tweeting', insisting the negative comments fired at her and her family on the social networking website are "unhealthy". Signing off on Thursday, July 8, Rimes told followers she's hoping to spend the rest of the summer concentrating on her happiness and not reading jibes and snipes from critics.

Victoria Adams has spoken out to deny rumors of an imminent split from husband David Beckham - insisting the pair is "more in love than ever". Veteran British singing duo Chas & Dave are reuniting - less than a year after they split. The two-piece band - beloved in the U.K. for their quirky hits inspired by life in their native London - decided to call it quits last September following the death of bass player Dave Peacock's wife Sue in July.

But Peacock has had a change of heart - and wants to give fans a farewell tour. Pianist Chas Hodges tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I was sat at Dave's house having a cup of tea and out of the blue he said he wanted to do a farewell tour. Dave felt he left in unavoidable circumstances and wanted to come back for one final tour."

Melissa Etheridge's former partner has filed for custody of the couple's twins. Actress Tammy Lynn Michaels, who was impregnated by a donor sperm and carried the kids to term, wants full legal and physical custody of Miller and Johnnie, according to the documents filed on Thursday, July 8.

Rocker Etheridge previously asked for joint legal and physical custody when she lodged a petition for dissolution of a domestic partnership in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week, on July 2. Jennifer Lopez has withdrawn from a gig in Cyprus after critics slammed her for agreeing to the show on the 36th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of the European island. The singer was billed to perform at the opening of new hotel complex Cratos Premium in the Turkish Cypriot part of the popular tourist destination on July 20.

But she's scrapped the show after learning it coincides with a day islanders would rather forget, insisting she would never have agreed to the concert in the first place if she knew about the history and relevance of the date.

"A Single Man" star Hoult will play Beast, the role Kelsey Grammer portrayed onscreen in "X-Men: The Last Stand". James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will lead the cast as Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, respectively. The film chronicles how the former friends became mortal enemies Professor X and Magneto.

Top celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos has attacked the judge who sentenced Lindsay Lohan to serve 90-days behind bars, because he thinks the punishment is too harsh. The legal expert, who has represented Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder and Chris Brown in court, insists Lohan's former attorney Shawn Chapman Holley is quite right to call foul on the actress' parole violation rap from Judge Marsha Revel because the star didn't deserve a long spell behind bars.

Geragos tells HollyScoop, "I think it was more than a little bit too harsh. I think it was over the top... The idea that she got 90-days in jail plus 90-days in a rehab center for basically coming late to court and missing her weekly appointments, even though she was scheduled to finish her alcohol program on time, is an outrage."

Oscars bosses have approved new rule changes which will enable five films to compete for the Best Visual Effects Academy Award, instead of three. The governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have decided that 1996 rules which limited the category to three nominees are outdated.

In another tweak, the eligibility for Best Animated Feature Film nominees has been reduced from 70 minutes to 40 minutes. As a result, a film that runs less than an hour can now qualify for Academy Awards consideration. Next year's Oscars, which will include the new rules, will take place in Hollywood on February 27.

Mel Gibson's lawyer has dismissed allegations the actor/director threatened a former mistress and sent her into hiding as "an absurd fabrication". Violet Kowal claims Gibson met with her at his Malibu, California home in 2009, while he was dating Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, and the pair had sex.

Kowal tells the publication the actor seemed "paranoid and anxious" during the encounter and chain-smoked before and after sex. She claims the affair continued and Gibson would get "very aggressive and angry" if she refused to see him or wasn't available.

Alex Wong's injury cost him his time on "So You Think You Can Dance". The only ballet dancer in the season was eliminated this week through unanimous votes from the judges. It was an easy decision because torn Achilles tendon which he got while in rehearsal will require an operation and months of rest.

Nigel Lythgoe said that Alex is welcome back next year. "It is just another thing you've got to get through in your life. It will strengthen you," he added. Alex welled-up a bit when hearing the judges' decision to send him home and the remaining contestants gave him a group hug. "I feel like I haven't finished my journey and I feel like I have so much more to learn," Alex said. "So I would love to come back."

A second trailer for "The Social Network" has been brought forward to further tease audience. Still not featuring any scene from the movie, the sneak peek video manages to explain more about the storyline as it sees a page of chatting room where the main characters join the conference. Not only the conversation between the characters can be seen, but also a glimpse of their faces are also featured.

Based on Ben Mezrich's novel "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal", the film focuses on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of popular social networking site Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates. However, co-founder Eduardo Saverin fell out with Zuckerberg over money, leading him to file lawsuit against Zuckerberg.

Usher's new single titled "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" makes its way out on the same day Teairra Mari's fresh track "Body" hits the web. Usher joins forces with Pitbull in the fist-pumping track, while Teairra sings solo in her own song.

"DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" is the first offering from Usher's August 24 release "Versus" which is a sequel and final chapter of "Raymond vs. Raymond". Meanwhile, "Body" is the new single from Teairra's upcoming first mini album "Sincerely Yours".

ABC is all set to launch its Fall schedule, announcing the dates of its returning and new series. The first to come are "Dancing with the Stars" and "Castle" while the last to premiere is newbie "No Ordinary Family".

Most of the shows begin during the third week of September which is the traditional premiere week. ABC still leaves out the dates of freshmen "Body of Proof" and "Secret Millionaire" for further announcement.

Batman is currently off his duty to serve people in Gotham City since no movie project about the superhero is being made, but his ride is still utilized. On Thursday, July 8, Batmobile which appeared in 1995 "Batman Forever" is spotted on the set of "Arthur".

The black car is seen parked on the street in New York's financial district (near downtown Manhattan) where the upcoming comedy takes principal photography. The sighting then raises speculation that the owner of the old Batmobile, Batman, could also make cameo appearance in the film starring Russell Brand.

Linkin Park are ready to rock again. As a follow-up to their 2007 studio album "Minutes to Midnight", the band are now preparing "A Thousand Suns". It becomes their first release since scoring soundtrack for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen".

The first single from the album is titled "The Catalyst". It is expected to hit radio airwaves on August 2, while the album will not be released in the United States until September 14. Ahead of the song debut, fans can get "some audio" from the "Catalyst" on the band's MySpace starting July 9.

Troubled seventies pop icon Leif Garrett has offered his help and support to Lindsay Lohan as she prepares for a 90-day jail spell. The "I Was Made For Dancin' " hitmaker, who is facing his own incarceration after pleading not guilty to felony heroin possession earlier this week, has urged Lohan to pray and practice yoga behind bars.

Garrett has a history of drug abuse and was most recently sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years' probation in May, 2006 after he was caught in possession of drugs. He tells the actress, "It's not gonna be that bad... Read books, pray, stretch, do yoga... just get your head together."

Rockers Korn are to perform in an eerie crop circle which they helped create in a field near their native Bakersfield, California. The group worked closely with expert circle makers on the design, which features a series of intricate circles and includes the band's logo, and now they'll perform in the center of the field art.

Their 80-minute set will mark the first time a mainstream rock act has performed such a gig. Frontman Jonathan Davis says, "The setting and the mood took us into a totally new direction musically. We took the opportunity to stretch out and experiment with the performance. I don't think we'll ever be the same."

Rocker Nick Cave's novel "The Death of Bunny Munro" is to be turned into a TV mini-series - and British tough guy Ray Winstone is desperate to land the lead role. The Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds frontman has revealed his second literary work - about a sex-crazed cosmetics salesman whose wife commits suicide - is being adapted for TV.

Cave tells EmpireOnline.com he initially wrote the story as a film script but resorted to publishing the tale in book form after failing to win over movie producers with his idea - even though "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" star Winstone was on board to bring the main character to life from the start.

A top session cellist has drowned in Switzerland on the eve of a performance with Regina Spektor at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Daniel Cho, who has previously performed with Katy Perry as well as Coldplay, was a member of Cooper, whose songs have appeared on hit MTV show "The Hills".

Cho drowned in Lake Geneva on Tuesday, July 6, a day before Spektor was slated to perform at the festival, according to website GenevaLunch.com. Spektor then dedicated her set to Cho but reports suggest she was distraught and shaken throughout her festival appearance and had to take several breaks. She also asked photographers to stop taking pictures.

Val Kilmer has landed a major New Mexico film honor just weeks after he was portrayed as an enemy of the state by angry neighbors in Santa Fe. The actor was forced to make a public apology to officials in New Mexico in June for critical remarks he had made about the state and the people who live there in past interviews.

"The Doors" star accepted an offer from San Miguel County officials to explain himself and attended a commission meeting on June 23, where he attempted to make amends for sleights about New Mexicans, explaining he understood why locals would be upset when they "hear negative things about a place you love". He maintained he was misquoted in Rolling Stone and Esquire magazine articles.

Nicki Minaj recently revealed when she is going to release her debut album. The Young Money female rapper wrote on Twitter that the much-hyped effort is scheduled to come out in United States on November 23.

When it arrives in stores, people are promised to meet her alter ego. "As of now, you'll know Nicki and you'll know Roman, my crazy alter ego Roman Zolanski. But you'll meet Onika [her birth name is Onika Maraj] before the year ends," she previously told MTV.

Sheryl Crow goes to the park during a sunny day, staging an intimate set with her band in a music video for her new single "Summer Day". She wrote on her official website, "My friend Keith Megna made an amazing 'Summer Day' video for us - inspired by a great day in Central Park and our actual studio recording of the song."

It is no longer whispers among the housewives that Brian Austin Green will guest star on "Desperate Housewives". It has been confirmed that the newly-wed has signed on for a multiple episode appearance when the show returns this Fall with the seventh season.

"The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum will play Keith, a new contractor and charming playboy who turns up the heat on Wisteria Lane," so the description of his character reads. The show's rep added that Keith is in his 30s and he catches the eye of some of the neighbors.

San Diego Comic Con International has unveiled the Thursday, July 22 schedule for this year's event. Early the day from 10.00 A.M. to 11.00 A.M., DreamWorks Animation will present "Megamind" with voice cast Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill and director Tom McGrath promised to attend and unveil new footage from the film.

At 11:15 A.M. until 12:45 P.M., Walt Disney Pictures will make use of Hall H to once again promote the long awaited sequel to "Tron", "Tron Legacy". Director Joseph Kosinski, producers Sean Bailey and Steven Lisberger, and cast members Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen and Bruce Boxleitner are scheduled to show up.

Taylor Swift slipped into a cream strapless gown with a shirred bodice and full, filmy skirt when filming a wedding scene for her new music video. She carried a bouquet of white flowers, looking beautiful with her hair softly curled and pulled to the side.

Set to be premiered later this year, the video was shot at Christ Church on Dane Street in Kennebunk on Thursday, July 8. The church which was built in 1827 was decorated with white ribbons and flanked by flower-filled urns for the filming.

Actors Ralph Fiennes, Colin Firth, Gary Oldman and Michael Fassbender are teaming up to bring author John le Carre's 1974 espionage thriller "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" to the big screen. The four stars have signed on to the Tomas Alfredson film, about a hunt for spies within the highest ranks of the British Secret Intelligence Service after the Cold War.

Le Carre's novel was previously turned into a U.K. TV series starring Sir Alec Guinness. The actor who is also known as Obi-Wan played George Smiley and was applauded for his portrayal in the BBC's seven-part adaptation of the story of Agent Smiley.

A dog accused of attacking Vanessa Carlton in May has been saved from death after the pet's owner proved the teeth marks on the singer's leg did not match those of the pooch. The "A Thousand Miles" hitmaker was jogging near her father's home in Shohola, Pennsylvania when a pitbull reportedly broke through its owner's electric fence and sunk its teeth into the star's flesh.

Carlton suffered five puncture wounds on her leg and had to be treated by medics for the injury. The singer lodged a formal complaint with regional dog law enforcement officers against the animal suspect, identified as nine-month-old Bella, and the case went to trial on Thursday, July 8.

Soul icon Stevie Wonder stunned fans at a recent concert in Paris, France when he brought Prince onstage with him. Wonder was performing in Bercy last week and treated fans to a double superstar experience by inviting his "Purple Rain" pal to join him, sending concert-goers into a frenzy.

But Prince insists his presence shouldn't come as such a surprise - because he always attends Wonder's shows whenever he can. He tells Le Parisien newspaper, "When Stevie is live somewhere and he knows I'm not far away, he always calls me up to invite me along. Then I come and take my guitar... just in case."

R 'n' B stars Alicia Keys and Rihanna are calling on fans to register as bone marrow donors to help young Broadway star Shannon Tavarez find a match in her battle with cancer. The 11-year-old actress, who played the young Nala onstage in musical "The Lion King", was diagnosed with Acute Leukaemia in April and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant to survive.

Her emotional cancer fight has struck a chord with the two singers, and Keys paid a visit to Tavarez at Schneider Children's Hospital in Long Island, New York last week to help lift the girl's spirits. The pregnant "No One" hitmaker admits she has been touched by Tavarez's story and she is urging her fans to sign up as potential donors, so the child and others like her can "grow up to live their dreams". Keys adds, "For her, the sky is the limit, but now she's fighting for her life."

Superstar Barbra Streisand, Golden Girl Betty White and director James Cameron are set to be inducted into the California Hall of Fame among the class of 2010. Action man-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has selected 14 honorees for the December ceremony.

Country singer Merle Haggard, tennis ace Serena Williams and Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg are also set to be honored by the state. Unveiling the 2010 inductees, Schwarzenegger said the group of artists, sports stars, business pioneers and politicians "make me proud to call California home".

Lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley no longer represents Lindsay Lohan in her 2007 DUI and drug case. TMZ, who called Holley for a comment, was informed that she has resigned as Lohan's lawyer and sources revealed Holley resigned on early Thursday, July 8.

Confirming that Holley has quit from being Lohan's attorney, the 24-year-old actress' New York lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, told the Daily News, "I can confirm [Holley] is not representing Lindsay at this point. Lindsay is in the process of hiring new counsel." Lawyer Tiffany Feder-Cohen is reportedly replacing Holley.

Before a brand new album is dropped next year, Lady GaGa's remix album will be made available for purchase in United States next month. It actually has been released since earlier this spring outside the U.S., but will not arrive Stateside until August 3.

Organizers of the International Comic Con 2010 have announced the list of panels which people can attend on Thursday, July 22. Due to being non-weekend as well as its status as a warm up, Day One is not boasting the best of all. But, some are still worth attending as obvious from the presence of sci-fi's best known icons, J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon.

These two will be in the same room for the same discussion in a panel dubbed "Entertainment Weekly: The Visionaries". Moderated by Doc Jensen, the panel presents "an in-depth conversation with these two creative geniuses about how technology, gaming, and global culture are reshaping how we tell and consume stories on television, film and the web."

Aussie singer Peter Andre has axed a book signing in Ireland as he recovers from pulled muscles in his chest. The "Mysterious Girl" hitmaker was out jogging near his home in West Sussex, south England on Wednesday, July 7 when he collapsed in agony, clutching his torso.

Lily Allen has hit back at British funnyman Alan Carr after he launched a furious rant at the singer for pulling out of a slot on his talk show. The "Smile" hitmaker axed an appearance on "Alan Carr: Chatty Man" this week along with a planned U.K. radio interview when she was struck down with illness.

Camp comic Carr blasted Allen when he heard the news, branding her a "f**king b**ch" and telling his TV audience he suspects she has a "vendetta" against him. But the sickly singer took to her Twitter.com page to hit back at Carr, insisting she was too ill to appear on the show.

After back in April Larry King's lawyer claimed a divorce between the television host and his wife Shawn Southwick had "a 50-50 chance" that it "is not happening," Larry and Shawn have now made their reconciliation official. The couple has filed legal papers, withdrawing their planned divorce, Larry's spokesman said on Thursday, July 8.

Larry and Shawn dropped their divorce on Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court and their request was granted on the same day. Larry's rep confirmed through a statement to Access Hollywood, "Larry King and his wife, Shawn, have both filed petitions to dismiss their divorce papers," with the host of "Larry King Live" adding "A lot of new things are happening to us, and we are happy to be together as a family with our children."

Former child star Kellie Martin has warned Miley Cyrus to finish her schooling - so she'll have something to fall back on if her showbiz career dries up. Martin began acting at the age of seven in U.S. series "Father Murphy" and went on to star in a string of movies and TV shows, including "ER" and "Life Goes On".

And she has advised "Hannah Montana" star Cyrus to make sure she completes her education as her singing and acting roles might not last for ever. Martin says, "I would tell Miley to go to college. Drake was in talks to perform at "Good Morning America" summer concert series on July 16, but the deal was never sealed. ABC decided to pass on the Canadian rapper after "NYPD told the city Parks Department that Parks' security plan wasn't up to snuff," the New York Daily News reported.

As people grow more curious about his new project Black Cards, Pete Wentz is finally willing to explain further about the band. In a long post on the band's official website, the Fall Out Boy bassist cited his recent visit to Jamaica as inspiration behind his new sounds.

"The takeover, the break is indeed over," he started. "As you may've read about over the last week, I've got a new band called Black Cards. When FOB went on hiatus, I wasn't really sure what to do with myself. I know I wanted to keep traveling the world with my family. We had been to Jamaica recently.
