Timbaland Accused of Illegally Sampling a Song

Timbaland has settled a legal battle with a composer who accused the superproducer of sampling a controversial track without permission. Musician David Cortopassi wrote the song "Spazz", which was originally recorded by The Elastik Band in the 1960s and was banned for its tasteless content.

Timbaland used part of the track in "Throw It on Me", his 2007 collaboration with The Hives, and Cortopassi launched a copyright infringement lawsuit. AllHipHop.com reports the pair has now agreed a settlement. No further details were given about the terms of the deal as WENN went press.

The bestselling author whose book inspired Julia Roberts' new film was left emotionally drained after watching the movie. Elizabeth Gilbert watched "Eat, Pray, Love" at a screening with her husband recently and admits it was tough to watch her own epic journey, which she wrote about for "Eat, Pray, Love" unfold on the big screen in front of her.

Appearing with Roberts, who plays Gilbert in the film, on U.S. talk show "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, May 24, the author said, "I'm still all emotional about it... It's essentially like this amazing director and this great actress and this cinematographer got together and made me a home movie of my year's journey, but they photoshopped me out and replaced me with somebody with really amazing skin and 38-inch legs."

Sarah Jessica Parker has dismissed reports she's in talks to return for a third "Sex and the City" movie - insisting she wants to gauge fans reaction to the franchise's upcoming second movie. The actress admits she's in a "state of turmoil" as she prepares for the release of "Sex and the City 2" later this month, because she's so nervous her fans won't like it.

Rumors are already rife that Parker, along with lead stars Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, are planning to start work on a third installment. But Parker is refusing to contemplate bringing the beloved characters back to the big screen again - revealing she hasn't even discussed the possibility with writer Michael Patrick King.

Scorpions' Temple Show in Indonesia Will Mark the End of Their Journey

German rockers The Scorpions will split after one final memorable concert at a ninth-century temple in Indonesia. The group has kicked of its final world tour and now the last date has been booked for Jakarta's Borobudur Temple.

The special concert will be held in June, 2011. A spokesman for the temple tells the Jakarta Globe newspaper, "This concert will mark the end of the 45-year musical journey of The Scorpions."

Mastodon Call Off World Tour Because Guitarist Is Sick

Rockers Mastodon have scrapped their upcoming summer world tour after the group's guitarist Bill Kelliher was diagnosed with pancreatitis. The band was due to start its trek in Germany on June 5, but Kelliher has been advised by doctors to take more recovery time after he was struck down with inflammation of the pancreas.

The rocker's medics are said to be optimistic about his recovery, reports Blabbermouth.net. Kelliher was also forced to drop out of the band's European tour in 2008 after falling sick with a mystery illness.

Dad Pleased That Lindsay Lohan Is Banned From Leaving Los Angeles

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael is pleased with a court order which will see the actress confined to California and forced to wear an alcohol-detecting device - insisting the ruling will help his daughter overcome her problems. The "Mean Girls" star left a Beverly Hills courthouse on Monday, May 24 wearing the accessory strapped to her ankle after facing Judge Marsha Revel, who ordered Lohan not to leave the state and not to drink alcohol or take drugs for the foreseeable future.

The hearing came five days after Lohan missed a mandatory court appearance because she was stranded in Europe at the Cannes Film Festival in France without a passport. Lohan must wear the tamper-proof device at all times and if she fails to meet the sober conditions of her bail, the actress faces jail.

And the singer is ecstatic about the news - in a post on the social networking site she writes, "This is really amazing! I love you all! I better get busy writing 4,947,608 thank you notes! Actress Kim Cattrall wants to return to Broadway in a new revival of Noel Howard's "Private Lives" after wrapping a critically-acclaimed run in London's West End. The "Sex and the City" star, 53, appeared opposite Matthew Macfadyen in the British production, about a divorced couple who discover they are honeymooning in the same hotel with their new spouses.

The curtain came down on the U.K.'s hit comedy earlier this month, on May 3 and now Cattrall has her sights set on transferring the play to the New York stage. She says, "It's the third play that I've done in the West End."

New and Witty 'Psych' Season 5 Promo

Less than two months to the season premiere, USA Network releases a short snippet of "Psych" which enters its fifth year. The show starring James Roday and Dule Hill will be back on July 14, a week earlier than it was previously scheduled.

The first episode of the season is called "Feet, Don't Kill Me Now". Previously the writers held a contest for fans to submit alternative title to this episode. Two entries, "Nobody Puts Lassie in the Corner" and "Gus'ta Move" received ticket to "An Evening with Psych" at Los Angeles' Paley Center back in April.

Actor Dennis Quaid is launching a negligence lawsuit against a healthcare company after his twins were given a potentially lethal dosage of medication in 2007. The star claims Baxter Healthcare, which manufactures drug Heparin, is partly responsible for the hospital error, which left his children, Zoe and Thomas, fighting for their lives after they were administered 10,000 units of the medication, instead of 10.

In the documents Quaid alleges the twins' damage "may be permanent in nature" and is "likely to cause serious complications in the future". He also claims the labels for Heparin are a "totally foreseeable and predictable" error and Baxter bosses should have taken steps to warn and to distinguish the drugs "knowing of the danger of an inadvertent mix-up".

Michaels tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "They'll (surgeons) go in and they'll do the heart operation in the fall. Brittany Murphy's Husband Simon Monjack Was in Need of Heart Surgery Before Death

Brittany Murphy's widower Simon Monjack was in need of a heart bypass when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest on Sunday night, May 23. Astilean countersued Simpson for $10 million last year, claiming the shoot was a shambles because the star allegedly turned up "tipsy". He alleged her manager/father Joe refused to sign off on the project, preventing the DVD from ever being released and forcing Astilean to take legal action.

Tom Jones Postpones Summer Concert

A Tom Jones concert in Britain has been postponed after planned building work at the venue overran. The Welsh singer was due to perform in Norwich, England on June 5 at Carrow Road stadium, the home of Norwich City Football Club. Bosses at the soccer club scheduled construction over the summer to expand capacity at the ground, but the work will now take longer than originally expected and they have been forced to scrap Jones' concert until the building is completed.

A statement from the club reads, "Norwich City Football Club is very disappointed to announce that the Tom Jones concert has been postponed. The Club has been working hard to find ways to maximize its capacity for season 2010-11 in order to provide the opportunity for more home fans to attend games."

Police officials have concluded there was "no foul play" in the death of Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack, as reports emerge suggesting he suffered a drug overdose. Murphy's mother, Sharon, found the 39 year old unresponsive on Sunday night, May 23 in the master bedroom of the Hollywood Hills home he once shared with the late actress, who died in December 2009.

Attempts to revive Monjack were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) have handed the case over to the L.A. Coroner's office. LAPD spokesman Sergeant Alex Ortiz tells the Associated Press, "We concluded there (were) no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved."

'Twilight' Trio to Present 'Eclipse' Sneak Peek at MTV Movie Awards

2010 MTV Movie Awards will be one of the events which gets a lot of attention from "Twilight" fans. On Monday, May 24, MTV has confirmed that three main cast of the film series, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, will be appearing live during the June 6 ceremony.

The depicters of Edward, Bella and Jacob will not only show up as guests but they will also hit the stage of the annual award show to present an exclusive clip from "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". The threesome did the same for "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" at last year's Movie Awards and MTV's Video Music Awards in September.

Elvis Presley's Personal Record Collection Up for Auction

Elvis Presley's personal record collection is to go under the hammer at an auction in London. The King handed a stack of 26 discs, including tracks by Ray Charles, Fats Domino and Sammy Davis, Jr., to his guitarist and pal Scotty Moore in 1968 and asked him to transfer them to reel-to-reel tapes.

But Moore has now decided to sell off the collection after the "Blue Suede Shoes" hitmaker never asked for his music back. Moore says, "Elvis left me the briefcase with the records and asked me to mail the tape back to his house in Memphis. I made a safety copy for myself and kept the records and tape in my studio in Nashville. Elvis never asked for the records to be returned."

Kanye West thrilled clubbers in New York City on Saturday night, May 22 by handing the DJ a copy of his new album and debuting previously unheard tracks. The rapper has been working on the follow-up to 2008's "808's & Heartbreak", which is reportedly titled "Good Ass Job", and he made a surprise appearance at Manhattan hotspot CV to unveil his new music.

West is said to have asked the DJ to play four songs from the record for the star-studded crowd, according to the New York Daily News. A source tells the publication, "Josh Hartnett and Kid Cudi were both there, and they immediately got up and started dancing. Kanye stayed with his own entourage in a corner booth, but looked pretty pleased."

Rockers Coldplay have reportedly been approached to take over U2's headlining slot at the famed Glastonbury festival - after frontman Bono underwent emergency spinal surgery on Friday, May 21. Organizers of the U.K.'s leading music festival are rushing to find a possible replacement for the "Beautiful Day" hitmakers after Bono injured his back while preparing for the band's 360 Degree world tour.

Chris Martin and his bandmates are currently working on their next album after wrapping up their Viva La Vida trek - but are said to be considering Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis' offer to play the festival next month.

Alec Baldwin NOT Running for Governor

A representative for Alec Baldwin has denied the star is set to swap acting for politics following rumors linking him to a candidacy in New York. Officials at the Working Families Party (WFP) are said to have been keen to sign up the "30 Rock" star to potentially run for office this year.

But although Baldwin has previously expressed an interest in making a career change, his spokesman Matthew Hiltzik insists the funnyman hasn't any plans to move into politics just yet.
