'Resident Evil: Afterlife' Gets New Release Date

The fourth installment of "Resident Evil" series, "Resident Evil: Afterlife", will arrive in U.S. theaters in the last weekend of summer 2010, about three weeks earlier than what has been reported before. Coming Soon reported that Screen Gems has moved up the film's release date from September 17, 2010 to August 27, 2010.

Speculation regarding the old release date was first reported in January this year. At that time, Shock Till You Drop, which broke the news, claimed that the possible September release date came from a Sony insider with a suggestion that an internal memo of the matter has circulated through the studio's offices.

Five More Progress to 'America's Got Talent' Final

The third batch of talents joining the finalists of "America's Got Talent" this season has been unveiled during the telecast on Wednesday, August 19. Dancing group FootworKINGz almost missed the last spot of the Top 5 this week but was saved by the judges' unanimous vote. As a result, dancers Pixie Mystere have to swallow the bitter pill of almost making it to the final.

The first to be read as a finalist was Texan pianist Jeffery Ou who put aside fellow pianist Bri Bernstein. Singer Lawrence Beamen advanced next, followed by married jugglers Mario and Jenny Ferreira, and breakdancer Hairo Torres. Still not quite pleased with America's votes, judge Piers Morgan said upon determining the fifth finalist, "I think America's made some strange decisions with a couple of these acts."

New Writers Brought In to Rewrite 'Shazam!'

"Shazam!" apparently isn't as dead as what has been reported earlier this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor-turned-writer Bill Birch has been picked up by Warner Bros. Pictures to reboot this adaptation of a DC Comics series that features Captain Marvel. In scripting the screenplay, he will get a helping hand from DC Comics writer Geoff Johns.

Currently writing Warners' "One Finger Salute", Birch who has starred in such series as "The Unit" and "Just Shoot Me!" is the sixth writer brought into the project to pen the screenplay. "The Princess Bride" scribe William Goldman, "The Basketball Diaries" writer Bryan Goluboff, "Garfield" screenwriters Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow, and "Big Fish" penner John August have all taken a crack at adapting the comic series.

Jack Savoretti's 'One Day' Music Video From 'Post Grad'

Jack Savoretti has debuted a music video in companion to his single "One Day" which serves a soundtrack for Fox Searchlight Pictures' upcoming movie "Post Grad". The video captures Jack strumming his guitar and provides a bunch of the film's scenes which highlight on its two main characters, Alexis Bledel's Ryden Malby and Zach Gilford's Adam Davies.

In addition to having Jack Savoretti's song, "Post Grad" soundtrack compilation set also includes tracks from Lily Allen, Gym Class Heroes and The Kooks. The record has been put out for purchase in America since August 18.

First Official 'Gossip Girl' Season 3 Poster

The CW has released a promotional poster of "Gossip Girl" season 3 which is tame enough compared to last season's. It puts all the seven main characters in party outfits with no tags on. Last year, the CW show brought seductive close shots of the cast featuring critical review taglines such as "Every Parent's Nightmare".

"Gossip Girl" begins its third season on September 14, switching time slot with "One Tree Hill" at 9/8c. Blair, Nate, Vanessa and the others have all graduated from high schools and are about to enter the world of college. Chuck, in exception, chooses to run his father's business empire while continues dating Blair.

Official, Omarion Dropped From Young Money

Two months after being signed to Young Money Entertainment, Omarion has been dropped from the giant recording company. Spilling the beans about the matter is the label's president Mack Maine on his Twitter which reveals that Omarion is fired because he has allegedly leaked his duet song with Lil Wayne.

"ATTN: Omarion is no longer Young Money ... the song they leaked ft. Wayne is not official .. good luck 2 him in his future," so Mack wrote. Shortly after that, one of Young Money's artists Jae Millz re-tweeted Mack's short message, apparently trying to emphasize that the news is not a rumor.

VH1 Stops 'Megan Wants A Millionaire' Following Murder

On the heels of a homicide case involving a contestant of the show, VH1 has announced that it will stop airing "Megan Wants A Millionaire" until further notice. In a statement released on Wednesday, August 19, the network said, "Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim's family."

Ryan Jenkins is one of the contestants of the dating reality show who was suspected of murdering a 28-year-old swimsuit model named Jasmine Fiore. He becomes a person of interest to the police after Jasmine's body was found stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in a trash bin in Buena Park, California last weekend.

'Prince of Persia' and 'Alice in Wonderland' Among D23's Line-Up

Exclusive sneak peeks at "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" and "Alice in Wonderland" will be shown during the D23 Expo. On Wednesday, August 19, the Walt Disney Studios has revealed the matter through a press release for the upcoming event to be held in Anaheim, California from September 10 to 13.

In addition to those two highly anticipated movies, the mouse house will also unveil sneak peeks at its other upcoming movies that include "A Christmas Carol (2009)", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "Tron: Legacy" and "Old Dogs". Disney Studios Chairman Dick Cook will present all those previews at The Anaheim Convention Center.

Kristen Stewart Isn't 'Important Enough' to Get Free Designer Clothes

Making name in showbiz ever since she starred as Bella Swan in hit movie "Twilight", Kristen Stewart still thinks she isn't "important enough" to get free designer clothes. "The really cool stuff - I never get to keep any of that. Like anything for an event or anything like that," she tells Entertainment Weekly of the clothes she wears to high-profile events.

It is understandable then that Kristen finds it "bizarre" that her young fans are obsessed with copying the clothes she wears. "The things that have been sold out have been the things that people are actually able to get that are semi-cheap," she explains. "Those things like sweatshirts and jackets, those things are mine, which is bizarre to have people go out and buy."

The British comedian/actor sings about hoping to see Katy Perry making out with Pink at the show. He chants about selling Moonmen for sexual favors as well.

Rick Bayless, Winner of 'Top Chef Masters' Season 1

The competition among culinary pros on "Top Chef Masters" has come to an end with the announcement of a winner. Chicago native Rick Bayless beats Hubert Keller and Michael Chiarello by a few stars in the cooking competition's first season. Rick consequently receives the $100,000 cash prize which he donates to his charity Frontera Farmer Foundation.

In the finale airing Wednesday, August 19, the three finalists must pass four stages of challenges that trace back their past. They must cook their first food memory, dish that made them want to become a cook, first restaurant and what's next. Rick, whose expertise is in Mexican cuisine, brought in hickory-smoked quail, Oaxacan black mole, roast suckling pig cake, and a black rice soup called arroz a la tumbada respectively.

New 'Avatar' Images Coming Out

Hours prior to the trailer premiere of "Avatar", 20th Century Fox has released a series of new photos from the sci-fi movie. In addition to ones featuring Sam Worthington's Jake Sully, some of the new images also provide first look at never-before-seen characters and another pic sees what seems to be the war birds.

The characters unveiled in the photos are Sigourney Weaver's botanist Dr. Grace Augustine, Michelle Rodriguez's retired Marine pilot Trudy Chacon, Giovanni Ribisi's Parker Selfridge and Stephen Lang's Marine Corps colonel Quaritch. Aside from these pictures, a capture of director James Cameron in discussion with Weaver is also included.

When "The Oprah Winfrey Show" returns on September 14 for the 24th season, it will tag along a big star as the first guest. The talk show fronted by Oprah Winfrey will welcome Whitney Houston to the famous couch for the first time in seven years.

In a press release on Wednesday, August 19, Oprah has called the appearance as "the most anticipated music interview of the decade." Whitney will talk about her life in the past ten years and the album, "I Look to You" which will arrive in U.S. stores on August 31.

Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian Planned to Have Abortion

Kourtney Kardashian's pregnancy was unplanned, she admits in a tell-all interview with the latest issue of People, to which she opens up about planning to have an abortion on the early days she found out that she is pregnant. "I definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not, and I wasn't thinking about adoption," says the 30-year-old star.

"I called my best friend crying, and I was like, 'I don't know what to do.' She said, 'Call your doctor, and at least find out the risks and stuff'," she recalls. Besides, "I looked online, and I was sitting on the bed hysterically crying, reading these stories of people who felt so guilty from having an abortion," she continues. "I was reading these things of how many people are traumatized by it afterwards."

'Spin' Author Wants Zac Efron to Star in the Film

Zac Efron's interest in "Spin" has got support from Robert Rave, the novel's author. Rave recently talked to MTV about his desire to see the "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" actor starring in the film version of his just-debuted book. He even admitted that Efron is his first option for the actor who will be best portraying major character Taylor Green.

"To be honest with you, as corny as it's going to sound, I thought Zac Efron would be perfect for Taylor," Rave first opened up about his choice of actor. He then explained, "When I completed the novel, I even said to the producer who's working on it, I said Zac would be at the top of my list if this ever gets made."

Jay-Z's music video for "Run This Town", one of the singles in his September 11 release "The Blueprint 3", has finally arrived in full. The Anthony Mandler-directed video has two featured guests in the song, Rihanna and Kanye West, making cameo appearances.

The video was filmed at Fort Totten Park in New York on August 6. On what Anthony tries to capture for the video, he previously told MTV, "I wanted it to feel more ancient. I wanted it to feel more European but on American soil. I didn't want it to have a framework, like, 'Oh, we're riding in New York'."

Gilles Marini May Not Return for 'Sex and the City 2'

Two brand new clips from the much awaited "H2: Halloween 2" have made their way out. Less than a minute long, one comes out officially via MSN while the other one is posted by Bloody-Disgusting. Each of the snippets features a shocking discovery made by Scout Taylor-Compton's Laurie Strode and Danielle Harris' Annie Brackett.

The "In the Mirror" clip takes a look at the time Annie prepares to take a bath before realizing that Michael Myers is standing behind her. Meanwhile, the "Call 911" clip from MSN focuses on the scene wherein Laurie and Brea Grant's Mya Rockwell find bleeding Annie in the bathroom. While the two are seeking help, Myers launches his attack.

LAPD Investigating Threesome Tape Featuring Eric Dane

An investigation reportedly has been conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department on a possible "criminal activity" in the leak of threesome tape featuring actor Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche in various states of undress. On Wednesday, August 19, the department issued a statement, confirming "On July 30, 2009, an unnamed source provided the LAPD's Detective Support and Vice Division with a copy of a DVD. According to the source, the DVD contained images that could link celebrities engaging in illegal activity."

"The LAPD was in the process of reviewing the voluminous files contained on the DVD when the story was leaked to the media. No determination has been made as to whether or not the DVD contained any information that could be used for a criminal investigation," the statement continued. "Some of the information contained on the DVD included archived articles and photographs of porn stars and formally convicted madams, which could readily be found over the Internet."

Released via Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's Twitters are the bold promotional posters of "The Beautiful Life: TBL". Featuring four of its main characters, the posters display them wearing nothing but their bodies with the tag of "What are you looking at?".

The girls pictured on the promotional efforts are Sara Paxton who plays Raina and Ashley Madekwe who is Marissa on the show. "Thought you guys would dig this," Ashton who is the executive producer of the new CW show wrote. His wife meanwhile released the guys version, putting the pictures of Ben Hollingsworth who plays Chris and Corbin Bleu who plays Isaac. "Well hubby @aplusk I think I prefer these of Ben and Corbin," Demi wrote.

Trailer Info and New Stills From 'The Wolfman'

Universal Pictures has hyped up the promo effort for its upcoming "The Wolfman" by providing information for the trailer release in addition to unraveling a batch of new images. The studio recently announced that on Thursday, August 20, the trailer for the horror thriller will be making its worldwide debut.

Yahoo! Movies and AccessHollywood.com will be the hosts for the trailer premiere, which will coincide with the launching of "Avatar" first trailer. Beside news for the trailer, Universal has also brought out a number of fresh stills. The new pictures provide a better look at Emily Blunt's Gwen Conliffe and Anthony Hopkins' Sir John Talbot among other things.

Simon Cowell is mad that "Don't Let Me Down", a duet song between his artist Leona Lewis and Justin Timberlake, has been leaked. The unfinished track reportedly is worked on by Justin's production team The Y's and seriously considered as the lead single from Leona's upcoming second studio album.

Before the formal announcement is made, the pairings on "Dancing with the Stars" have leaked out either via the press or Twitter. The official announcement itself is scheduled to be read out on Monday, August 24 again on "Good Morning America".

Karina Smirnoff is going to train Aaron Carter this season while her real-life partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy gets actress Debi Mazar. Karina didn't get the chance to win the disco ball in previous seasons, only finishing second when she was partnered with Mario Lopez in season 3. Similarly, Maksim's best position in the show was the second place when he was partnered with Melanie Brown in season 5.

Robert Pattinson Denies Saying He Is Single

Robert Pattinson has, through his representative, denied a story run by The Daily Mirror claiming he said in an exclusive interview with them that he is currently single. In a statement issued to Gossip Cop, his representative confirms, "I will only comment on matters regarding Robert's professional life, but in order to set the record straight, Robert did not speak to the Mirror, and their claim that they spoke to him a few days ago is manufactured along with any information that they claim to have as an exclusive directly from him."

On Wednesday, August 19, The Daily Mirror published a story claiming Robert said he has no girlfriend. "I don't have a girlfriend. I don't know why. You always think you're going to get more girls after you've made a movie and it never happens. You sit there and you're like 'I'm a big movie star and I want to go out with some models' but I don't know why that doesn't happen," so read the quote provided by the publication.

Moriarty's Appearance in 'Sherlock Holmes' Confirmed

When The Mirror generated speculation that Brad Pitt has come aboard "Sherlock Holmes" as Moriarty, Warner Bros. was quick to slam it down, but apparently there is some part of the flying rumor that is true. Talking to MTV's Josh Horowitz, director Guy Ritchie confirmed that Moriarty will be involved in his forthcoming action drama.

"Some kind of an appearance is probably the best way to describe it," Ritchie explained about the arch foe of the legendary detective's part. When pressed further if an actor is credited for the villainous role, he said, "I believe not." He then elaborated, "I don't know how to answer that other than to say there is some kind of appearance. All will be revealed. I'm afraid I have to be slightly ambiguous about this but you'll understand what I'm talking about when you see the movie."

Kourtney Kardashian Doesn't Mind Posing Nude While Pregnant

Carrying a bun in the oven won't stop Kourtney Kardashian from baring her body for the camera. In an interview with E!'s Daily 10 she admits she wouldn't mind stripping down to show off her pregnancy curves. "I think so. I'd have to think about it," says the reality TV star when she is asked if she would consider posing naked for magazine covers, like Rolling Stone.

Should Kourtney pose nude for magazine while pregnant, she will follow in the footsteps of Demi Moore and Britney Spears who have done the same thing years back. No word if Kourtney's baby's daddy Scott Disick agrees on the option or not.
