Thirty Minutes of 'Avatar' Not Yet Done

November 21, 2009 03:33:54 GMT

Less than a month before "Avatar" world premiere on December 10, "around thirty minutes of the movie remain incomplete", producer John Landau said. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, the filmmaker claimed the scenes need work ranging from sound mixing through color timing along with visual effects. Moreover, Landau argued that there is "little meaningful difference between principal photography and special effects."

If there is a thing that can relieve the problem, digital visual effects company Weta has completed their work on the film, MarketSaw reported. Beside the New Zealand based company, there are six other FX houses involved in the making of the James Cameron's sci-fi movie project. However, it is not known whether or not those companies have wrapped their parts of the film.
