Joining other film critics organization in revealing the best works in film industry, the Boston Society of Film Critics has picked up acclaimed big screen titles and names to be the honorees of its BSFC Awards this year.

For the Best Picture, the group turned out to have the same taste as National Board of Review and Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association did, giving the title to Coen Brothers-directed "No Country for Old Men." Furthermore, it also deemed star Javier Bardem the Best Supporting Actor for his role as Anton Chigurh.

Just released "The Golden Compass" last Friday, December 7, 2007, New Line Cinema has come up with the first trailer for another fantasy adventure produced under its banner, none other than "Inkheart", based on the first book of "Inkworld" trilogy by Cornelia Funke.

Boasting starry cast, impressive special effects, and adventurous story, New Line Cinema's "The Golden Compass" found its way to go straight to the top place of weekend U.S. Box office after opening at $25.8 million on Friday, December 7, 2007.

The number the fantasy flick raked in, however, was way below expectation as the studio had hoped the movie to collect between $30 million and $40 million during its first three days. Pic, on the other hand, hit big in international market, doubling its U.S. takings by drawing in $51 million from 25 overseas territories.

Announcing the result of votes for the best achievements in film-making held among its members, the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association listed up winners for this year's WAFCA Awards on Sunday, December 9, 2007.

Most honors went to the acclaimed "No Country for Old Men" as the crime drama thriller scooped up four kudos in total, particularly top prize Best Film of 2007. Three others were those of Best Director for brothers Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, Best Ensemble, and Best Supporting Actor for Javier Bardem.

More shots on the upcoming "Jumper" are now available for fans to look at as 20th Century Fox has finally launched online the first trailer for the sci-fi adventure in its follow-up to the release of the teaser trailer back in October.

The piece originally was premiered by the studio on Friday, December 7, 2007 at Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with principal cast members Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, and Samuel L. Jackson all present. Epic Records artist The DEY have premiered a video for their first single lifted from EP 'The DEY Has Come'. The clip is for track 'Give You the World' that has been released on iTunes.

The DEY is a Latino Hip-Hop group comprised of Divine, Elan, and Yeyo that record their songs bilingually. They have garnered a headlining act in McDonald's tour alongside Ne-Yo and Kat DeLuna and nabbed Timbaland in their early single 'Get the Feeling'.

Though the filming of the much awaited "Sex and the City" movie had just wrapped a while ago, the rumor of its sequel already surfaced in the media. According to reports, the producers of the hit HBO television series' adaptation movie have already started on planning for a sequel since they are convinced that their movie will be a hit.

The Mail on Sunday reported that their on-set source said, "The producers are already working on a script for a second movie, they are so convinced the first will be a hit. They are exercising the sequel option in all of the stars' contracts. They want it to be a franchise and think they can stretch it over at least three movies."

"There Will Be Blood" reigned at the 2007 Movie Critics Awards. After being announced as the winner of Best Picture Award in 2007 LA Critics Awards along with three other prizes, it brought home five more kudos from New York Critics Online.

Soulja Boy whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, is facing possible legal matter that was issued by a rapper named Willie Lyons. The legal representative of Lyons issued a letter to gossip blogger Perez Hilton saying that the alias has been used by his client for more than 12 years.

Hollywood's most-kept secret is no longer an unconfirmed speculation as it has been accidentally confirmed that Ricky Martin is gay.

Skin-care guru Ole Henriksen, who's a good friend and facialist for Martin, told Swedish gay magazine Salonk that the Latin Grammy Award-winning pop singer is gay.

Master P's controversial music video has hit on-line. The rapper showed the clip for 'Gutta Time' feat. Guttar Boyz aka BBlak, Bengi, Playa, C-Los, and Tank Dog, in full version after releasing its trailer back in 2006.

"There Will Be Blood" managed to nail four awards from the 2007 Los Angeles Film Critics Awards on Sunday, December 9. By the President of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Lael Loewenstein, the Paul Thomas Anderson's drama was announced as the Best Picture of the Year. It also landed prizes for Anderson for Best Director, Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Actor, and Jack Fisk for Best Production Design.

Under the category of Best Picture and Best Director, the Paramount Vantage's movie succeeded to outscore the runner-up, the Miramax Films' "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly " and its director, Julian Schnabel. While for the best actor, Lewis triumphed over Frank Langella in "Starting Out in the Evening"and for the Production Design, Fisk outdid the designer for "Sweeney Todd", Dante Ferretti.

Michael Jackson has, last week, unveiled the official cover art of his 'Thriller' re-release, showing the picture of him back in the original release era surrounded by his famous 'zombies'. The 25th anniversary edition will be dropped by Epic Records on February 12.

Tracks included in the CD have been uncovered in the previous weeks, containing several original scores as well as new remixes by Akon, will.i.am and Kanye West. Later on it was revealed that Stacy Ferguson aka. Fergie will contribute in the remix of the track 'Beat It'.

Howie Dorough of the boyband Backstreet Boys married his longtime girlfriend Leigh Boniello Saturday, December 8 in his hometown of Orlando.

The pair got married at St. James Cathedral, it has been reported.

Going against claims that they are going to walk down the aisle by the weekend, the latest reports tell that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are still singles.

Last week Fox News reported that the couple are planning to wed in a secret ceremony in Bahama, quoted a source as saying Minnillo's entourage has arrived at one of the Bahamian Carlyle Hotels, where the supposedly hush hush nuptial is set to be held.
