Logan's Run Back into Production at Warner Bros.

Long left in development hell, "Logan's Run" finally gets back to the track as Warner Bros. Pictures now has a new helmer to handle the project in commercial director Joseph Kosinski, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

For Kosinski, the sci-fi thriller thereby will be his feature directorial debut which he is poised to carry out from the script penned by Tim Sexton. The man reportedly came into Warner Bros. with a presentation that included graphic art and animated previsualization that set the look, color, tone and style of the film he wanted to make.

Van Halen Adds More Dates to Outsold Tour

Just few days after the announcement of Van Halen's reunion tour, tickets were snapped in light speed. In anticipation, organizer Live Nation has added a fresh batch of dates to the already crammed tour schedule.

The new dates are October 3 at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center, October 20 at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena and November 11 at Washington DC's Verizon Center. Tickets to the first two dates will go on sale this Saturday, August 25 while the Washington leg will be sold one day prior.

Get the New Beowulf Movie Still

Building up anticipation for the November arrival of "Beowulf" in theaters nationwide, Paramount Pictures has submitted another image for the animated fantasy feature on the net, which sure will prolong the amazement from moviegoers on the digitally enhanced technique the project applies.

In the meantime, the studio has also updated synopsis for the flick as:
"In a legendary time of heroes, the mighty warrior Beowulf battles the demon Grendel and incurs the hellish wrath of the beastís ruthlessly seductive mother. Their epic clash forges the timeless legend of Beowulf."

Moderate popularity seems to be a better option this time for James Blunt as his claim to fame hit 'You're Beautiful' tops another infamous chart. The single that went #1 on most countries' chart has been listed at #1 for songs that used to be enjoyed but now makes people want to hurt others.

A poll was gathered by RollingStones.com's Rock List column and Blunt's hit beat Black Eyed Peas' 'My Hump' and Smash Mouth's 'All Star'. Eva Mendes Joins the Starry Cast of The Spirit

Going from one comic-book adaptation to another, "Ghost Rider" star Eva Mendes has secured a starring role in "The Spirit", Lionsgate Films' big screen version of the fictional American masked crime-fighter created by writer-artist Will Eisner.

Becoming the second female name after Scarlett Johansson to board the project, it is still unclear, however, what role Mendes is billed to play, but production has been confirmed to start October this year at Albuquerque Studios in New Mexico. Frank Miller will direct from his own script with Deborah Del Prete, Gigi Pritzker, and Michael Uslan all producing.

Elton John's 60th Birthday Concert Molded to DVD

Elton John's 60th birthday that was marked with huge concert last March will be chronicled into a DVD. Titled 'Elton 60: Live at Madison Square Garden', the double disc will feature all 33 sets that the singer played during the show plus around 30 other performances that he had done in past 40 years of his career.

Among the piece that Elton played during the shows are all-time hits 'Madman Across the Water', 'Something About the Way You Look Tonight' and of course, 'Rocket Man'. No North American Tour for Amy Winehouse This Year

Already absent in most of her bills, Amy Winehouse will make her U.S. fans wait until next year for her tour. The singer who is currently in rehab has rescheduled the tour in North America that supposes to begin this Sept. It will be re-arranged for early 2008.

A rep from Amy's label Universal said, "Due to the rigors involved in touring, Amy Winehouse has been advised to postpone her upcoming September U.S. and Canadian tour dates." With the scrapped dates, Amy will have time to "address her health". Purchased Tickets will be available for refunds at point of purchase.

Michael Bay Won't Do Transformers Sequel?

Getting pissed off following Paramount/DreamWorks Pictures' announcement to become exclusive to HD DVD in releasing movies instead of launching them on both Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD, Michael Bay had expressed his disappointment by claiming he will not do a sequel to his summer blockbuster "Transformers."

"I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks!" so he wrote as posted on ShootfortheEdit.com. "They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!"

P. Diddy to Star in ABC's "A Raisin in the Sun"

Launching her own line of fashion, perfume, and producing film, P. Diddy is now about to star in a TV movie. The hip hop mogul is joining the cast of the long-awaited adaptation of the Broadway revival of "A Raisin in the Sun."

Starring in alongside the likes of Phylicia Rashad, John Stamos, Sean Patrick Thomas, David Oyelowo, Bill Nunn and Cephas Jones, Diddy is slated to portray the role of Walter Lee Jr. The film, a three-hour production, was shot December last year and tells the story of a family's struggles in Chicago's South Side in the 1950s.

Beware of your tongue for it might get you into troubles. Darren Hayes is the victim of his own sharp tongue. The Australian singer-songwriter was arrested back on July 22nd after allegedly made a racist remark to a London waiter.

The former front man of pop group Savage Garden was questioned by police on Friday August 17th after allegedly abused a male member of staff at Busaba Eathai Thai restaurant. He was released on bail and has since refused to comment.

Alien vs. Predator Sequel Gets Longer Title

Seems the follow-up to 2004's "Alien vs. Predator" has got itself a new, longer title from now on. Previously had a working title of "Alien vs. Predator: AVP2", the project has been learned to have its name changed to "Aliens vs. Predator Requiem" instead.

The new title was noticed to be mentioned in the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly of which site also listed the name in its Fall Movies Preview's Release Calendar section. Moreover, it is further learned that 20 th Century Fox as the studio producing the flick has already registered domain name of AliensvsPredatorRequiem.com that has yet to be activated.
