Joaquin Phoenix & James Gray Reunite on the Night

We Own the Night picture
Joaquin Phoenix and director James Gray are teaming up for the upcoming film entitled "We Own the Night."

The action thriller genre, which script was written by Gray, is set against the turbulent world of Russian organized crime and an embattled NYC Police Department in the 1980s. A Russian narcotics gang has a hit list of NYPD officers and it is up to Joseph, a night club manager to save his brother Bobby and father who are next on this list.

Jolie & Pitt Expecting Child Together

Finally the truth is revealed. Though they've refused to admit their romance, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could deny the fact no more. The twosome is said to expecting their child together. Commenting on the rumors, Pitt's spokeswoman confirmed the news after US magazine People ran a story claiming Jolie was pregnant.

This what people around the world are waiting for. A confirmation on Pitt and Jolie relationship. And so, the baby's report is more than enough to satisfy public curiosity. Anyway, the baby, who will be the first biological offspring for both Jolie and Pitt, is expected to be delivered into the world this summer.

Rock Band Korn Joint Venture with Live Nation

Grammy-winning rock band Korn has on Wednesday January 11th confirmed that they've inked a deal marked their joint venture with Live Nation, the live entertainment company recently spun off by Clear Channel Communications Inc..

The agreement, expands on a partnership Korn created with EMI Group Plc in September, stated Live Nation, EMI and Korn will now partner and share in Korn's recording, publishing, touring, merchandising, sponsorship and other activities.

Pete Doherty Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges

Babyshambles lead singer Pete Doherty pleaded guilty on Wednesday January 11th to charges of heroin and cocaine possession.

The rocker was formally charged with possession of the drugs Monday, a Class A felony across the Pond, under the U.K.'s 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act, before previously was arrested in London in the early hours of Nov. 30, after being pulled over for driving in an "erratic manner."

Pearl Jam Photo Book to be Released This Spring

You may have seen the first photo book of Pearl Jam, "Place/Date," issued in 1998. By now you can see their new one. It is titled "5x1: Pearl Jam Through the Eye of Lance Mercer."

Centered around the music group, the book will be released this spring, so according to Billboard. The book will be sold via Pearl Jam's Web site (http://www.pearljam.com).

Isley Brothers Makin' "Music" Released on March 7

R&B music group Isley Brothers is planning to release their new album "Baby Makin' Music" on March 7 despite the absence of singer Ronald Isley, who was sent to jail in October last year of five counts of tax evasion and one count of willful failure to file a tax return.

The new set reportedly features fellow musicians, like Jermaine Dupri, Tim and Bob and Manuel Seal, Jr., among others. As of the album's lead single, "Just Came Here to Chill," was produced by Troy Taylor and Gordon Chambers.

Beanie Sigel Was Convicted of Assault

Rapper Beanie Sigel has on Tuesday January 10 convicted of assault for a fight occurred outside a Chinese restaurant in 2003. The case stemmed from an argument between Sigel and a man who claimed the star punched him in both eyes, breaking his left eye socket.

Tried to get the charge reduced to simple assault, Sigel then agreeing to the prosecutor's version of events. Thus, he was convicted of misdemeanor simple assault, caused him to be sentenced to two years probation plus $180 in court costs. Hopefully he learns his lesson.

The 37th NAACP Image Awards Nominations

The 37th annual NAACP Image Awards nominations announced Tuesday Jan 10 was dominated by UPN series "Everybody Hates Chris" which was up for five trophies including that of Outstanding Comedy Series, Actor in a Comedy Series for Tyler James Williams, Actress in a Comedy Series for Tichina Arnold, Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Terry Crews and Director of a Comedy Series for Ken Whittingham. The set, chronicling the semi-fictionalized childhood of Chris Rock, tied Fox's "The Bernie Mac Show" and UPN's "Half & Half" for most nominations in the comedy series categories.

In the meantime, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey earned four nominations each, including Best Song and Album. Apart, drama mystery flick "Crash" topped the movie category with six nominations, including Outstanding Motion Picture, Supporting Actress for Thandie Newton and Supporting Actor for Don Cheadle, Larenz Tate and Terrence Howard, who also was up for Outstanding Actor for the rap drama "Hustle & Flow." Find out the winner on Feb. 25 when the event will be presented at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium and taped for broadcast on Mar. 3 on Fox.

"Lil' Kim: Countdown" to Premiere

The so-called Queen B of hip-hop, Lil' Kim reportedly will have her own reality show on BET. It's dubbed "Lil' Kim: Countdown to Lockdown."

Set to premiere on Black Entertainment Television March 9th later this year, the show will chronicle the star's last two weeks of freedom before beginning her prison sentence for perjury and conspiracy in September.
