Chan Promotes HIV & AIDS Awareness in Vietnam

Actor Jackie Chan, who is also United Nations goodwill ambassador, visited Vietnam on april 23, 2005, in charge of promoting HIV and AIDS awareness to the people there. While in the communist country, Chan visiting a communal health centre and a support group session for people caring for family members with HIV and AIDS in northern Quang Ninh province, which has some of Vietnam's highest infection rates.

Further, the actor claimed there still lots of things need to be done to get affordable treatment to those infected by the virus, especially they in poor countries like Vietnam. That's why he suggested that the discrimination and social stigma attached to the disease must be eliminated. In continuation with the visit, Chan four-day trip will also include a visit to a Buddhist pagoda in Hanoi where monks help counsel young sufferers, along with a sunset cruise on picturesque Halong Bay.

Dean Cain Joined Armenian-Americans Marching

Actor Dean Cain joined hundreds of Armenian-Americans marching in the streets of Hollywood to mark the 90th anniversary of the mass killings of Armenians by Turks. With all wearing black T-shirts adorned with the words "We've Had Enough," and hoisting signs saying "Truth Always Prevails," the mass marched down Hollywood Boulevard in Little Armenia while leaders released doves into the sky.

Many of the protesters urged Turkey and the rest of the world to have the killings recognized as massacre, because of which up to 1.5 million Armenians ultimately died or were killed over several years as part of a campaign to force them out of Turkey. Hundreds of the mass marked the anniversary in Armenia at the nation's massive stone memorial, and the country observed a moment of silence.

Crue Matches $10,000 in Reward for Missing Woman

Motley Crue is joining efforts to find Tracey Gardner-Tetso, a Baltimore area woman who was reported missing by her husband after she didn't meet friends at the "Red, White & Crue Tour 2005" show at the MCI Center. In an attempt to find Tracey, there has been a previous award offered by the Victims' Rights Foundation of Gaithersburg, Metro Crime Stoppers and Aggregate Industries, where Tracey worked as a dispatcher.

In an another attempt, Motley Crue will match an earlier reward of up to $10,000 to increase publicity about Tracey's disappearance. Nikki Sixx, the group's bass player, said in a recent statement, "We hope our involvement helps bring more attention to this case, and anyone with information will step forward."

Hayek to Join Jury at Cannes Film Festival

Salma Hayek and Javier Bardem will surely join the members of the jury at this year's Cannes Film Festival, which will run May 11-22, 2005. The jury for the ceremonial, who will select twenty movies from 13 countries, heads by director Emir Kusturica and will include writer Toni Morrison, Indian actress Nandita Das, and directors John Woo, Agnes Varda, Benoit Jacquot and Fatih Akin. The awards will be announced May 21, 2005.

Elton John Prepares to Wed His Longtime Partner

Singer Elton John has voiced a statement saying he's preparing to wed his longtime partner David Furnish. The pop star told the Daily Mirror newspaper that he and Furnish will be having a civil partnership ceremony soon as the new legislation of the same-sex marriage being legalized in the country in December 5 this year.

Moreover, the singer openly admitted his willingness to be the first same-sex couples in the country to hold a ceremony. Detailing on the wedding plan, Elton said "We definitely want to do it about the middle of December, probably in Windsor." To add, he said the ceremony will be relatively low-key, and that the celebrations may have to be delayed and there will be no honeymoon because he's on tour.

Smith's Wardrobe Malfunction at Grand Ole Opry

Model Anna Nicole Smith did cheered up audience at Nashville, Tennessee's Grand Ole Opry held last Saturday April 23, 2005, when she deliberately flashed her breasts and underpants in front of the many onlookers attending the ceremony. The star was at first dance with her partner, but then broke away from and launched into an improvised solo routine.

It wasn't Smith solo dance that left the audience open-mouthed, yet a series of eye-catching moves she did. One source mentioned "She was shimmying around, shaking her breasts, and lifted up her skirt in a sort of square-dance-can-can move and gave the audience a view of her panties." Qickly after, the star did some sort of crazy dance, turned around, stuck her butt out at the audience as she left her skirt, and at one point, her boob popped out.

Lohan's Pad Targeted by Burglars

Singer and actress Lindsay Lohan was shocked to find burglars had broken into her Los Angeles apartment when she returned from a trip to New York earlier this month. According to Celebrity Justice, the robbers had taken away the star's electronic equipment, worth more than $10,000, including two television sets and a DVD player.

Police, in addition, told the tv show there must be more than one suspect due to the size of the TV sets. Lohan herself is reportedly happy that only replaceable material goods missing and no life was lost in the incident.
