The Lonely Island

The Lonely Island offers their newest studio creation with "The Wack Album". Repeating the same formula used in the previous efforts by mixing music, comedy and heavyweight guests, the troupe went all the way to the top 10 on Billboard Hot 200.

Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone give element of surprise by enlisting new collaborators like Hugh Jackman, Kristen Wiig, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake and Lady GaGa are also tapped help them deliver their goofy songs.

"YOLO" which features Adam Levine and Lamar becomes the highest-charting single from the album so far. Containing the sarcastic lyrics of "You Only Live Once" phrase, it climbed to No. 60 on Hot 100 since being debuted on "Saturday Night Live" last January.

For a second single, they dropped "Spring Break Anthem". The music video stars "Spring Breakers" actor James Franco, "Moonrise Kingdom" star Edward Norton and "The Hangover" funnyman Zach Galifianakis to make up the absent of A-list guests on the track.

THE LONELY ISLAND BIO

Friends since childhood, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and Andy Samberg coined their name in the industry from the cramped west coast apartment they shared as comic start-ups. "The three of us have been friends forever," said Samberg. "Since junior high and high school, and then we all eventually moved in together, starting out, basically, doing joke music. Our first projects were always about mixing music with comedy." » more
