One of the six breakout bands to watch this year, Honor Society lived up to their name when it comes to breaking through the music industry. The band, comprising of four guys in their early 20s, will soon release their debut album "Fashionably Late" which old fans see as "growth in the music" and new fans experience as "a funky, cool pop music album with a rock band vibe."
Honor Society in fact already picked their fans through a joint tour with Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks earlier this year. With the album ready to come out in stores on September 15, the band are flying solo by going out for a headlining tour. "We have some cool things in store that people are going talk about," the band said on how ready they are. The tour was kicked off on September 13 in Anaheim, C.A. and will go on up to December.
The journey to stardom may be one speed-light experience for the boys. They started out as friends who had a clear vision of how they would band together before performing in clubs and venues to gain fan base. Their 2005 EP caught the attention of Jonas Brothers who would later sign them to their Jonas Group label. From there, it was all downhill.
Working with producer John Fields, the band got the honor to receive some songs co-written by Jonas Brothers. "The album is something that we are proud of and it definitely represents us. It's a funky, uptempo rock album and we hope people like the vibe," they said.
Not only a new album, Honor Society also get a part in two films, "Bandslam" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel". While in the former they only contribute a song, in the former they have a scene playing as the band Honor Society.

Honor Society were formed in 2005 and first came out with "The Green Light (EP)" in the same year. All of the band's members grew up together and had known each other for at least 15 years before forming the band.
