Honor Society were formed in 2005 and first came out with "The Green Light (EP)" in the same year. All of the band's members grew up together and had known each other for at least 15 years before forming the band. They played in a few different bands before making music together under the moniker of Honor Society.
Three years after the arrival of "Green Light", they released another mini album "A Tale of Risky Business (EP)". This EP got in the hands of the Jonas Brothers who later checked on the band during live shows. "We all hung out a few times and there was this instant creative connection," said the band. In early 2009, they were officially signed to Jonas Brothers' management company, Jonas Group.
