Movie Story
Three strangers of two generations, bound by loneliness, reach out to one an-other, embarking on a road-trip though Louisiana. It takes them on an emotional and revealing journey, and leads them to fulfillment through love. It's a film that tells us we should never give up, that we all have second chances in life - whatever happens.
Brett Hanson, an ex-convict, has just been released from prison after serving six years for accidentally killing a man in a fight during a row with his wife May. While still considering whether he should go back to where his life took that fateful twist, he hooks up with two teenagers, Martine and Gordy, who offer him a ride.
During their journey, Brett first keeps his secret to himself, but slowly begins to reveal his past. A past of violence, sorrow and bad choices. Just when he's about to give up all hope of ever being reunited with his ex-wife May, he accepts his young friends' support and learns that he can indeed go home again...
"The Yellow Handkerchief" is a love story of two people, Brett and May, who in the end realize that they belong together. And of two teenagers, Martine and Gordy, who experience their first glimpse of true love...
