First teaser poster and still from Samuel Bayer-directed movie "" have been revealed. IGN has debuted the horror film's one-sheet, while MySpace put out the first official photo. Both of the first looks gave out as the major antagonist Freddy Krueger, but hid the serial killer's face in the darkness.

Exposing Krueger from the front side, the teaser poster which is also spotted being used as the movie's banner at San Diego Comic Con 2009, highlights more on his shining razor glove. The first still, in the meantime, shows the burned-psycho standing in what seems to be young kids classroom with one of his artificial sharp claws resting on the wall.

Confirming the project to Collider, they reveal that the movie is in its beginning stages and that bringing back Freddy Krueger to the big screen needs a serious planning since Krueger is a challenging character.

However, it seems that it is not what Brad Fuller, one of the horror reboot's producers want to present the audience with.

Planning to deliver a different feeling to the new Krueger's tale, Fuller confessed at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con that he is more interested to introduce a new Freddy than to bring Englund back. "I think it has to be [a new Freddy] and I know fans hate to hear that and everyone says you have to put Robert in. He said it too," he said as quoted by Movies Online. "I think that in order to differentiate what we're doing from the other ones, we would need to find someone else to play that role."

The rumor that Freddy Krueger will be back on the big screen has been confirmed. According to Variety, New Line Cinema has appointed Platinum Dunes to re-launch the 1984 Wes Craven horror film "A Nightmare on Elm Street" about the iconic psycho who haunts the subconscious dreams of teenagers and kills them in their sleep.

The reboot film "Untitled A Nightmare on Elm Street Remake" is more likely to still focus on Krueger who is a serial child killer murdered by angry parents and then returns with a burned face and razor glove to terrorize teens through their dreams. The remake project will be given to Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form who act as the film's producers. Further, it was reported that the studio won't hire a writer until the writers' strike ends.

Words have been circulating that another "Untitled Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel" will be made. According to Bloody-disgusting.com, New Line Cinema is reportedly putting the horror project into production as "Freddy vs Jason 2" is put on hold indefinitely.

Accordingly, John McNaughton is attached to direct the film, while Robert Shaye will be the producer. Details concerning what the film will be about hasn't been shared. It is only reported that "Nightmare" will possibly start the production after another New Line Cinema's horror "" finished its production.

The original movies did contain some black humour, however this remake seems to be only brutal. Michael Bay obviously has to remake everything. Oh well... without Robert Englund this seems to be another slaughter-only movie. Sad.
