Radiohead's Thom Yorke Forms New Band With RHCP's Bassist
September 30, 2009 02:09:37Thom Yorke, the lead singer of band Radiohead, has a side project with Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist/keyboardist Michael "Flea" Balzary. Also recruited as the new band's personnel are producer Nigel Godrich, Beck's drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
"In the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work," Thom wrote on Radiohead's official website. Along with the announcement, he posted a picture of the new band. "Here's a photo.. its me, joey waronker, mauro refosco, flea and nigel godrich," so he stated.
Full 'The Twilight Saga's New Moon' Soundtrack List Unveiled
September 22, 2009 09:09:55Which musicians are scoring music for "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" have been unraveled with the coming out of the full tracklisting of the film's soundtrack. Posted on "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer's website, the list includes songs from Thom Yorke, The Killers, and OK Go.
The 15-track album is comprised solely of "original and exclusive" songs with Muse who have contributed to the first film's soundtrack making a return with another track titled "I Belong to You (New Moon)". Led by Death Cab for Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox", the soundtrack line-up for the second "Twilight Saga" movie unfortunately doesn't include Robert Pattinson's "Blue October".

July 25, 2009 11:07:38Radiohead's frontman Thom Yorke has been confirmed by "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" director, Chris Weitz, to score music for the "Twilight" sequel. Furthermore, it is revealed that Chris has got his hands on the track and can't wait to listen to it. "Unless it's sounds of him belching, I think I'll put it in," so the filmmaker told HitFix in an interview at 2009 San Diego Comic-Con.
Beside confirming about Thom Yorke's contribution to "New Moon" soundtrack, Chris also said rock band Bon Iver have also written song for the Robert Pattinson-starring movie. "I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard," the helmer of "The Golden Compass" said.

"When Miley grows up, she'll learn not to have such a sense of entitlement," the male musician tells US Weekly.
Earlier this month, Miley told the Johnjay & Rich morning radio show that she requested a meeting with Radiohead, which is her favourite band, when she discovered their dressing room was four rooms away from hers during the awards gala. Unfortunately for her, Yorke politely declined because he and his band mates were preparing themselves their performance at the event.
Thom Yorke of Radiohead Approached to Make Music for 'Terminator Salvation'
February 10, 2009 02:02:27"Terminator Salvation" director McG has revealed his interest of signing Radiohead's lead singer Thom Yorke to craft songs for his upcoming action Sci-Fi movie. He broke the news during 2009 New York Comic-Con, which was held from February 6-8.
During the event, McG said to have considered handing over the entire score to Gustavo Santaolalla, whose songs in "Brokeback Mountain" and "Babel" received Academy Awards, and Thom. "We talked about Gustavo getting with Thom Yorke from Radiohead, which I thought would be a very interesting combination," so he stated.

"My daughter was putting an album together and she put us in touch," McCartney told Channel 4's T4 program. "I asked Thom to do a duet, but he said he couldn't because he only felt happy working on his own and Radiohead's material."

Two thumbs up for Arctic Monkeys who on Tuesday Sept 5th won the Nationwide Mercury Prize for the Best British Album of the Year, thanks to their debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not", which has been sold over 363,700 copies in its first week.
The Sheffield-based band surely created surprise with the winning, for which they beat the other heavy nominees vie for the £20,000 coveted prize, including the likes of Sway and Radiohead's frontman Thom Yorke.

Now it's time for us to have a look at the US album chart. There on the very top position on the chart is the 22nd installment of "Now That's What I Call Music," tentatively titled "Now That's What I Call Music! Vol. 22", which sold about 398,000 copies. That amount, in fact, marks the biggest first-week sales since the Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way", which has been sold more than 500,000 back in May.
What's more it's also more than four times as many copies as Johnny Cash's "American V: A Hundred Highways". Then comes at 2nd position on the chart is Thom Yorke's "The Eraser", moving 90,000 copies. Elsewhere on the top 200, Pimp C debuts at No. 3 with his "Pimpalation" sold 87,000 copies, ahead of Nelly Furtado's "Loose" at No. 4.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will have his debut solo album "The Eraser," released in July later this year. The singer confirms the unveiling of his new project in an email to Radiohead fan websites at the same time as the band embarked on their latest UK tour.
"This is just a note to say that something has been kicking around in the background that I have not told you about," he wrote. "It's called The Eraser." Despite such fact, Yorke would like to set the record straight, rubbished the rumor that he is splitting from band Radiohead.
