October 20, 2009 03:10:41Disney star Selena Gomez is likely to team up with New Line Cinema for her next big screen project. According to Variety, the actress known for her role as Alex Russo in TV series "Wizards of Waverly Place" is attached to topline New Line's forthcoming comedy "What Boys Want".
In the movie, 17-year-old leading actress Gomez will take on the role of a teenage girl who can hear what men are thinking. Before being attached to "What Boys Want", she has been cast to play Beezus Quimby in "Ramona and Beezus", the feature adaptation of children's novels by Beverly Cleary.
TV Winners of 2009 ALMA Awards
September 18, 2009 01:09:03"The Cleaner" which ended its second season this week, spawned a winner at 2009 ALMA Awards on Thursday, September 17. Benjamin Bratt who plays the lead character William Banks earned the honor to be Best Actor in Drama. The actor who came to the event accompanied by model wife Talisa Soto, was on hand to receive the statuette.
In another category, Selena Gomez won her first ALMA through her portrayal as a teen wizard on "Wizards of Waverly Place". Her win is considerably an achievement since she had to battle it out with heavy competitors such as Salma Hayek from "30 Rock", America Ferrera from "Ugly Betty", and Judy Reyes from "Scrubs".

Her TV movie, "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie" was premiering on Disney Channel on the same night and her music video for "Falling Down" was coming right after the movie.
After interviewing Shaquille O'Neal, Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Selena to the couch, introducing her as the girl who "owes it all to a dinosaur named Barney". This literally became a subject as later, Jimmy put on a tape of young Selena dancing and singing on the kids show. When asked whether she was embarrassed by it, Selena said "No, I embrace it. I'm always made fun of, [but] other than that, I'm good."
