Full List of Spike TV's 'Scream 2008' Nominees Announced
September 11, 2008 11:09:46On Wednesday, September 10, Spike TV has revealed their full list nominees for the 3rd Annual Scream Awards entitled "Scream 2008". From the announcement, it is revealed that the hit summer blockbuster movie "The Dark Knight" has led the pack with an astounding 21 nominations from The Ultimate Scream to Most Memorable Mutilation category.
Aside from collecting gongs for its installment, "Dark Knight" has also brought in nods for its cast and crew. Four of the Warner Bros. Pictures action movie' lead cast ensemble, Christian Bale, Aaron Eckhart, Heath Ledger and Maggie Gyllenhaal, have been receiving counts for Best Superhero, Best Villain, Best Actor and Actress, while helmer Christopher Nolan is up for Best Director and Best Screamplay, the latter he gets along with Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer.

This time, the two-time Golden Globe-nominated actress will step in for Toni Collette in the developed Sam Mendes' project, "Farlanders".
The sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal fills in Collette's role since the latter actress quit the project following the shooting delays. In the Focus Features' tidbit, she will be portraying a bohemian college professor who happens to be the friend of John Krasinski's character. Additionally, the 30-year-old actress will join the production some time next week.

April 04, 2008 01:04:21The star of indie drama "Sherrybaby" Maggie Gyllenhaal has reportedly been signed to star in an Aussie-U.K. co-production drama film "South Solitary". Variety reported that the actress will be starring opposite English actor Paul Bettany in the romantic drama film.
According to Screen Daily News, the 30-year-old actress is set to portray a disgraced young woman. She will share the screen with the "Wimbledon" star as Bettany has been tapped to star as the other lead character, a shell-shocked soldier. In the film penned by Shirley Barrett, Gyllenhaal will act under the direction of Barrett.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Bello is in final talks to fill in the vacant role left by the sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
If the negotiation went well, Bello will take over the role of the mother of Robin Wright Penn's mother in a series of flashback sequences. Allegedly, the actress is considered for the role since her feature strikes a resemblance to the co-star of Christian Bale in "The Dark Knight". Bello has been involved in the replacing negotiation since Gyllenhaal had to drop out from the project due to conflicting schedules.

Jake Gyllenhaal and sister Maggie were staying at the Manka's Inverness Lodge in Marin County for Christmas holiday when the fire began around 3 a.m. Wednesday after a tree fell and hit a water heater.
Guests were seen running outside at around 2:43 am. Said a neighbor, "They weren't dressed to come out. It was early."
