Emmy Rossum Joins 'Dragon Ball Z'
December 17, 2007 09:12:47Emmy Rossum, the actress of "Poseidon", "Mystic River" and "The Day After Tomorrow", has come to agreement with 20th Century Fox to star in their new movie. According to Variety, the "Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera" star has signed to join the cast of "Dragonball" as Bulma, a scientist and inventor whose father's Dragon Ball is stolen by the villain, Piccolo.
Further, more cast members have also been signed for the Japanese manga adaptation. In the first place, Eriko Tamura, the popular Japanese actress who depicted Yaeko in popular TV series "Heroes", will play the character of Mai. At the same time, it was reported that Joon Park, a member of Korean pop band 'G.O.D.' and actor in "Speed Racer", will star as Yamcha, originally known as Yamucha who is a thief turned to Z Fighter.

A contrast to her subtle popular 'Phantom of the Opera' role, Emmy displayed a sexy side in the new video. In her own words, Emmy described the clip's concept as "different speeds because the song's about the pace of life and to create the blur of the world and how overwhelming that can be."

Those expecting Emmy Rossum, who played Christine Daae in 2004's 'The Phantom of the Opera', to record a classical album may just be disappointed. The Golden Globe-nominated actress is choosing to release her debut LP in mainstream pop.
“It’s pop music, but not Britney Spears bubblegum pop," Emmy revealed. "I want it to have a David Gray or Annie Lennox feel. I’ve been spending up to 12 hours a day in the studio.”

Hilary Duff and Nick Cannon love the teen, literally. Both stars have been booked to host this year Teen Choice Awards, slated to air August 26th on FOX.
This is Duff's second time hosting the Teen Choice Awards, being her first was in the 2005. She herself won Choice Movie Breakout Star - Female Teen Choice Award in 2003 for portraying the title role in the 2003 teen comedy "The Lizzie McGuire Movie", while Cannon already earned four Teen Choice nominations, including one this year for Choice TV Personality.

All of them will join the already announced presenters, among others are Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, Jamie Foxx, Natalie Portman, and Emma Thompson.
The annual event is about to be telecast live on NBC Monday, January 16 (8 - 11:00 p.m. EST) at The Beverly Hilton. Among the many awards recipients is Anthony Hopkins who will be granted Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment field."
