AceShowbiz - The Bay Area singer Kehlani is gearing up to release her self-titled album later this week, unveiling an impressive roster of collaborators who contribute to the project’s diverse sound.

On April 20, Kehlani partnered with Spotify to debut a stylish trailer revealing the star-studded lineup. The promotional video, described as cocktail-friendly, showcased the range of prominent R&B and hip-hop artists featured on the album.

The LP boasts contributions from iconic names such as Missy Elliott, who previously appeared on Kehlani’s single “Back and Forth,” as well as Cardi B, Usher, Brandy, Clipse, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Leon Thomas, Lil Jon, and T-Pain. This ensemble highlights Kehlani’s ability to blend genres and collaborate with both established legends and contemporary stars.

Kehlani has teased some of these collaborations in advance, confirming features from Usher, Clipse, and Brandy. She also has a history of working with several of these artists, including joining Lil Wayne on the remix of Khalid’s “Location,” teaming up with T-Pain on the 2021 track “I Like Dat,” and collaborating with Leon Thomas for “Dirt on My Shoes.”

Following the success of her first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Folded,” Kehlani is set to receive Billboard’s Women In Music Impact award later this month, recognizing her influence and achievements in the industry.

Reflecting on her personal growth, Kehlani shared, “I’m just growing up. Something happens when you turn 30 - everything’s making sense.” She added that her motherhood journey and family life are thriving, contributing to a newfound sense of balance and clarity.

Looking ahead, Kehlani has ambitious goals for this eponymous album. She aspires to perform the project with an orchestra at Manhattan’s legendary Carnegie Hall, envisioning a grand and historic personal milestone. Additionally, she hopes some of the tracks will be featured in films, further expanding the album’s cultural footprint.

“I want to do this album at Carnegie Hall with an orchestra,” Kehlani said. “I really want some of these songs to make it into movies … and ultimately just have a really historical personal moment for me, and hopefully keep adding to the genre because that’s the coolest thing that ‘Folded’ has done beyond anything - I’m watching the conversation change and I’m a part of it.”

This upcoming release will mark Kehlani’s fifth studio album. Her previous record, Crash, dropped in 2024 and debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard 200 chart.
