AceShowbiz - Kehlani and Javaughn Young-White's legal battle over the custody of their daughter is far from being over. After the two seemingly try to solve the matter privately in court, the tension between the exes is high again with the leak of court documents detailing Javaughn's allegations of Kehlani's parenting.
On Wednesday, November 13, screenshots of an alleged court filing by Javaughn and his text exchange with the singer went viral. They detail his view on cult influence on his daughter and Kehlani's alleged unusual beliefs regarding their daughter Adeya's spirit.
According to Javaughn, Kehlani once described their 5-year-old child's spirit as "one of her wives in a past life." He also expresses his concerns that Kehlani allows a member of the cult, an adult woman, "to take bath with Adeya while being under the influence of psychedelic drugs."
"Adeya sleeps in the bed with, and is given baths by random adult members of the cult and she is often in the bedroom alone with some of these people," the document claims. "I have been trying to express my fear, anger, and concern to Kehlani about our daughter's living environment when she is on tour and when she is with her cult, who essentially live in her home. However, instead of addressing my feelings, she resorts to disparaging me online to her millions of social media followers."
After social media users expressed their shock at the allegations detailed in the court documents, Kehlani has spoken up. Denying the "monstrous allegations" leveled at her, the R&B artist claimed the screenshots from Javaughn were edited and included her screenshots of their text messages in her post.
"as a person that has always gotten little readings here and there, I was connected to an older woman for a 'past life' reading. I shared what I considered to be a lighthearted recap with my child's father, laughing at it & considering it something light & not to be taken serious," she explained. "To have those screenshots then doctored, the rest of messages left out, to make me seem like I consider myself to be in an appropriate relationship with my DAUGHTER.. is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever f**king heard."
Kehlani defended herself, "I've been silent, i've taken the public beating. I've been addressing all of these things where I should, I COURT. I've sat there and watched the public only have access to ONE SIDE of things. But THIS is where I absolutely draw the line. I do NOT, and have NEVER considered myself in any sort of inappropriate relationship with my child. The rest of these absolutely monstrous allegations are being addressed in court. Thank you."
Kehlani and Javaughn welcomed their daughter in March 2019 after dating for almost a year. They broke up shortly after the birth of their child. While they have been co-parenting their child, Javaughn filed for full custody of Adeya in August of this year, claiming that the 29-year-old star is in a cult that is controlling her actions "including when it comes to the upbringing of our daughter."
Kehlani denied her ex's claims, writing on Instagram at the time, "I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm's way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe. I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media."
