Brian Austin Green opened up about his immaturity during his past relationship with Tiffani Thiessen and how his jealousy of her '90210' storyline ruined their romance.

AceShowbiz - Brian Austin Green, 51, recently reflected on his past romance with Tiffani Thiessen during an episode of his "Oldish" podcast.

Before joining the cast of "Beverly Hills, 90210", Green had his eyes set on Thiessen, who was known for her role in "Saved by the Bell" at the time. Fuelled by a crush, Green was thrilled when Thiessen reciprocated his feelings, leading to a relationship that soon faced unexpected challenges.

Recalling the early days of their relationship, Green said, "I had a crush on her before 90210 because we used to do all these teen magazines or whatever."

He described his excitement in discovering that Thiessen was interested in him too, saying, "I was like, 'This is the coolest thing ever,' because I'd never dated anyone before I'd never put myself out there as I did with her."

However, when Thiessen was eventually approached to join "Beverly Hills, 90210", the couple faced unforeseen difficulties. Green had reservations about how Thiessen's presence might impact his "home" and "family" on set. "It was just an invasion in my space," he recalled his negative reaction.

"This was more of a complete family, and I was there all day long every single day so all of a sudden she comes in and she's working with people, not with me," he noted.

Thiessen joined the cast in 1994 as Valerie Malone, filling the gap left by Shannen Doherty's Brenda Walsh. Green admitted that he struggled to deal with her inclusion, citing jealousy over storylines and a lack of maturity on his part.

"I was so incredibly jealous of story lines. There was just absolutely not a shred of maturity in the way I dealt. I was a wreck," Green confessed.

The pressures and tensions on set spilled into their personal life, leading to their breakup within three years of Thiessen joining the show. Thiessen stayed on until season 9 in 1998, and Green continued until the show ended in 2000.

Reflecting on their breakup, Green expressed regret over how his negative reactions affected their relationship. "I can't imagine how hard that was for her. The excitement of, 'Oh, I'm going to go work on the show!' and it just becoming so miserable to be there," he shared.

Despite their challenging past, both Green and Thiessen have moved on to build new lives. Green married Megan Fox in 2010, with whom he shares three sons, although they have since divorced. He is now engaged to Sharna Burgess with a young son. Meanwhile, Thiessen married actor Brady Smith in 2005 and the couple has two children.

Green's candid reflections serve as a poignant reminder of the intricate balancing act required when blending personal and professional lives, a lesson that resonates beyond the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
