AceShowbiz - Maren Morris returns with a new single "Bed No Breakfast". It's is the latest single unveiled by the country singer from her eagerly anticipated LP, "Dreamsicle", due to arrive on May 9.
" 'Bed No Breakfast' is my cheeky little song about wanting personal space after… personal closeness," she explained. "It's about a right to your own comforts on your own terms even while having some good-natured fun with somebody. Drunk girls don't cry… they kick you out."
"Dreamsicle" is set to feature five songs from Morris's 2024 EP "Intermission" and promises a blend of various influences, reflecting both her artistic freedom and personal growth. It marks her fourth full-length studio project and her first since 2022's "Humble Quest".
According to Morris, the album symbolizes significant transformations in her life, including motherhood and a reshaped business approach post-pandemic.
"It represents a lot of influences, a lot of leaps of faith - just true artistic freedom, which is what I've always wanted, and I've had, but not in this way, where it's dovetailing with my personal life freedom," she told Elle in December 2024.
"I've gotten to wear many hats in my career, but with my own personal project upcoming, there are no training wheels. I'm being my truest, most secure self. I think the album reflects [my experience of] becoming a mom in the last few years, changing the way I do business post-pandemic, and then also understanding why I needed to let go of some comforts to grow into the person that I needed to be."
Morris has been busy with numerous gigs at high-profiled events. She recently joined Zedd onstage at Coachella alongside John Mayer, Elley Duhe, and Bea Miller, and wowed the crowd with a rendition of "The Middle."
Additionally, she collaborated with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for a powerful rendition of "My Church," backed by a gospel choir, and headlined a special White Claw event in Palm Springs, performing her hits at the Saguaro Palm Springs.
As young listeners await the release of "Dreamsicle", "Bed No Breakfast" offers a tantalizing glimpse into what promises to be an album full of personal insights and shows the singer's creative growth.
