AceShowbiz - During the 2025 Oscars, Julianne Hough found herself in an uncomfortable situation when her interviews with Timothee Chalamet became widely criticized and viral for all the wrong reasons.

The "Dancing with the Stars" co-host and professional dancer approached the "Dune: Part Two" actor with a series of questions and the actor dodged them, leaving viewers cringing.

Hough kicked off their encounter by asking the Oscar-nominated star if he would reprise his "Saturday Night Live" rap skit in the style of Bob Dylan. Chalamet quipped, "You know what? I'm gonna need a check."

This wasn't Hough's only awkward moment with Chalamet. The dancer also asked if the "Wonka" star had any go-to dance moves, leading Hough herself to showcase a body roll. Chalamet, appearing uncomfortable, humorously questioned whether she experienced any spinal issues from doing the move since childhood.

The banter did little to ease the tension, with Chalamet politely excusing himself shortly afterward.

The internet's reaction varied. While some criticized Hough for her approach, others defended her, claiming that the interview was meant to be a fun chat while pointing out her background as a dancer and Chalamet's history with musicals like "Wonka".

"Was he ultra nervous/anxious tonight?! This is not the usual Timmy," one wrote. Another commented, "I love him but like lowkey was he rude or am I overthinking?"

However, Timothee was defended by his fans, "I don't think he was rude, I think it was a weird question and also even more awkward if you don't want to dance for the camera lol."

Dressed in a striking butter-yellow Givenchy suit, the actor was joined by girlfriend Kylie Jenner inside the venue. The couple packed on PDA although they did not walk red carpet together as a couple. He lost the award to Adrien Brody.
