After nearly 16 years, Lady Gaga has reignited hopes for a continuation of her iconic single 'Telephone', hinting at more adventures with her original collaborator Beyonce Knowles.

AceShowbiz - The wait might finally be over for fans of Lady Gaga and Beyonce Knowles who have been eagerly awaiting a sequel to their 2009 hit "Telephone." The cinematic, nine-and-a-half minute music video, which ended with the tantalizing promise "To Be Continued…", has turned into classic.

On a recent Vanity Fair lie detector test, Gaga confirmed that plan for a follow-up. "Yes," she said. When pressed about Beyonce reprising her role in the sequel, Gaga teased, "Maybe," further fueling the anticipation among fans.

Although she remained coy about the possible release date, the "Abracadabra" singer denied speculations that the sequel was delayed because of scheduling conflicts with Beyonce.

Beyonce herself hinted at a revival of the "Telephone" storyline in a 2024 Super Bowl ad for her album "Cowboy Carter". She was seen driving a taxi through a barren landscape reminiscent of the original music video.

The original "Telephone" single was part of Lady Gaga's EP "The Fame Monster," a reissue of her 2008 debut album "The Fame." It was initially intended for Britney Spears but eventually became a now-iconic duet between Gaga and Beyonce.

Meanwhile, Gaga is gearing up for the release of her eighth studio album, "Mayhem", due March 7. She didn't mention any song that would serve as a "Telephone" sequel, but confirmed her Grammy Award-winning collaboration with Bruno Mars is in it.

The record will mark her return to the pop scene. "The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved," she shared, describing her creative process as "reassembling a shattered mirror."
