After Daredevil's official return, Marvel Studios is now actively considering bringing back Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jones' Iron Fist to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Studios' streaming and TV boss, Brad Winderbaum, has revealed that the studio is "very much exploring" the possibility of bringing back the beloved Marvel characters Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.

All three characters previously appeared in their own standalone series on Netflix, along with Charlie Cox's Daredevil. Krysten Ritter starred as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Iron Fist. The foursome also teamed up in the "The Defenders" series.

With Cox's Daredevil already making the jump to the MCU with his own Disney+ series, fans have been eagerly hoping that his former Netflix co-stars would follow suit and their return may be a real possibility following Winderbaum's comments.

"I can't say much, but I'll tell you that it's so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox," Winderbaum said. "Obviously we don't have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it."

"It's dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into account, it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring."

Netflix's run of Marvel originals abruptly ended between 2018 and 2019 ahead of the launch of Disney+. A two-year exclusivity agreement prevented the characters from appearing in non-Netflix content, explaining the long gap between Cox's Netflix departure and his MCU return.

Charlie Cox recalled getting the news of cancellation directly from the bosses at Marvel and Netflix, "I got a call late at night, and my boss at Marvel television at the time said, 'They've pulled all the shows. All five of them.' "

"There was some… I don't know, it was a conversation about the politics behind it all, some feud between Netflix and Disney. My bosses at Netflix and Marvel all called and were very nice, and very polite, but it was done."

Late last year, Krysten Ritter was excited about the potential return of The Defenders after "Daredevil: Born Again" was officially confirmed and Brad Winderbaum said he would love to see Jessica Jones return. "Come on, Brad! Let's get it going," she exclaimed.

As Marvel Studios continues to expand its universe, it remains an exhilarating time for both new and long-time fans. The promise of reviving seasoned heroes and integrating them into the wider MCU offers boundless storytelling potential, keeping audiences eagerly on the edge of their seats.
