AceShowbiz - Rihanna found herself at the center of a surprising controversy involving artificial intelligence. A viral video featuring an AI-generated voice that mimicked her speaking style hit Instagram, causing quite a stir among her fans.
It all began when an Instagram user posted a video that made it seem like the "Umbrella" singer was discussing her most luxurious purchases, from a $13 million Beverly Hills mansion to a $61 million Gulfstream G550 private jet.
The generated voice remarked on these assets, saying, "First up, my Beverly Hills mansion, worth $13 million, and my rented house in London that costs about 50,000 per week … When I need to fly, my Gulfstream G550 private jet worth $61 million makes every trip first class."
Rihanna quickly shut down the fake video, "Who tf is this talking??!" While many comments told her it was AI voice clone, the video description itself did not give any information. This oversight left many viewers puzzled at first and resulted in a flurry of mixed reactions.
This incident is not the first time Rihanna's voice was used without her authorization. A fake duet featuring Rihanna and Bad Bunny circulated on SoundCloud and was seemingly created by the same individual behind a viral AI-generated collaboration between Drake and The Weeknd.
On a brighter note, fans can look forward to hearing Rihanna's authentic voice in the upcoming "Smurfs" film. Slated for release on July 18, she stars as Smurfette and has also taken on the role of producer for the project. The movie's trailer features her singing multiple songs.
Rihanna also continues to thrive across various ventures. Beyond her music and acting, she has enjoyed significant success with her Fenty Beauty brand, lingerie line Savage x Fenty, and Fenty Skin. Fans eagerly await any new music projects from the star, whose last album, "Anti," was released in 2016.
