With the release of her latest single 'Disease' and a Grammy nomination in hand, Lady Gaga opens up about her new album LG7 and what to expect from the next record.

AceShowbiz - Pop icon Lady Gaga continues to make waves with her ever-evolving musical journey. While her latest single "Disease" serves as the official lead of her next installment tentatively titled "LG7", it was her summer collaboration with Bruno Mars, "Die With a Smile," that truly kicked off this new musical era.

"It's a huge part of my album," Gaga told the L.A. Times about the single, which is nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards. The track emerged during a late-night studio session with Mars, who had already been toying with the fundamental concepts of the record. "I sat down at the piano and was like, 'OK, Bruno, show me the chords,' " Gaga recalled, adding, "I don't think he knew how much of a musician I was."

Scheduled to drop in February, "LG7" sees Gaga returning to more traditionally structured pop songs, deeply rooting itself in her diverse musical talents. "The record is full of my love of music - so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams," Gaga explained. "It leaps around genre in a way that's almost corrupt. And it ends with love. That's the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love."

Themes in the album echo Gaga's life experiences, including what she describes as a "recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life," yet it promises a happy conclusion. Beyond "Disease" and "Die With a Smile," Gaga is already conceptualizing the defining visual moments for the album. One such pinnacle is her upcoming headlining performance at Coachella 2025.

Music festivals hold a special place in Gaga's heart as they foster a sense of community within music. Reflecting on her first headlining set at Coachella in 2017, she noted the challenges of a last-minute performance after Beyonce Knowles' withdrawal.

"I really wanted to be there for music fans, and at the time there was all this excitement to be able to film bits of A Star Is Born at Coachella," she explained. "So I did it, and I loved it. But you know when you have a vision in your mind of how you want to do something? It's time to make it happen."

This time, Gaga aims for a more realized vision for her Coachella performance, tied intimately with her devotion to live music. "I don't think there's anything that's affected me as deeply in my life as live music. There's something for me that's religion about it."
