AceShowbiz - Kendrick Lamar's "GNX" and Taylor Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" continue competition to fill in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. K.Dot's surprise record fails to top the tally as Taylor's latest set sits atop the list.
In the chart dated December 21, the 35-year-old superstar's record, which was initially released on April 19, spends its 17th nonconsecutive week atop the chart. The set earns 240,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending December 12, according to Luminate.
Billboard reports that traditional album sales comprise 201,000 as it extends reign at No. 1 on Top Album Sales for a 10th nonconsecutive week. The album's SEA units comprise 39,000 or equaling 51.04 million on-demand official streams of the set's songs. Meanwhile, TEA units comprise a negligible sum.
As for Kendrick's "GNX", it remains steady at No. 2 after earning 125,000 equivalent album units. Though so, the album lands at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums for three consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, ROSE's debut solo album titled "rosie" rolls in at No. 3 as it earns 102,000 equivalent album units.
TWICE's "STRATEGY" makes its debut at No. 4 with 88,000 equivalent album units earned, marking its sixth total and consecutive top 10-charting set on the chart. Sabrina Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet" is a non-mover at No. 5 after earning 75,000 equivalent album units. In the meantime, the "Wicked" film soundtrack drops to No. 6 from No. 3 as it earns 74,000 equivalent album units.
Michael Buble's "Christmas" extends reign at No. 7 with 62,000 equivalent album units earned. Bing Crosby's "Ultimate Christmas" slightly ascends to No. 8 from No. 9 after earning 56,000 equivalent album units. On the other hand, Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft" falls to No. 9 from No. 6 as it earns 56,000 equivalent album units. In contrast, Sabrina's "Fruitcake" returns to the chart at No. 10 with 54,000 equivalent album units earned.
