'Boom Clap' singer Charli XCX has consistently wowed audiences with her high-energy performances, but the physical and emotional toll is starting to show.

AceShowbiz - Charli XCX recently opened up about the physical and emotional challenges she faces on stage. In an in-depth interview with Variety, the 32-year-old artist revealed that her dedication to exhilarating performances has led to significant physical harm, including nerve damage in her neck.

"I find the stage these days to be a very angry place for me," Charli confessed, explaining why performing has been very hard for her emotionally and physically.

Despite the toll, Charli remains committed to giving her all on stage. "For me to give a performance that I feel is good enough, I have to really physically throw myself around and that makes me very upset when I do it," she admitted.

The "360" singer's intense commitment to her craft and her audience has not gone unnoticed, but it does come at a cost. "Genuinely, physically I have nerve damage in my neck from things that I've done on the stage," she explained.

The artist's recent Sweat tour with pop peer Troye Sivan provided a bit of emotional relief amidst the physical strain. "Touring with Troye made everything a lot easier and less of an emotional battle for me," Charli said, highlighting the bond she shares with Sivan.

Their friendship and joint performances, including songs like "1999" and "talk talk," have been a source of joy during trying times. "We became, actually, quite a nice little family on that tour," she fondly recalled.

Charli's critically acclaimed album "Brat" and its surprising success were also topics of discussion. The album has earned seven Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Furthermore, her journey into acting has been peppered with guidance from fellow pop star Ariana Grande who collaborated with her on the remix of "Sympathy Is a Knife." "She had a lot to say," Charli remarked about Grande.

As Charli gears up for her 2025 tour dates in support of "Brat," she continues to navigate the complexities of balancing her physical well-being with the demands of her performance style.
