Pharrell Williams has been at the center of a whirlwind of controversy, accused of targeting Taylor Swift with his disdain for celebrity political endorsements.

AceShowbiz - Pharrell Williams has clarified his stance on celebrity political endorsements after being accused of targeting Taylor Swift. In a GQ cover story, Williams denies that he was referring to Swift when he criticized celebrities who publicly endorse political candidates in a previous interview. He explains that he "loves" Swift and even purchased a Taylor Swift T-shirt, and that the accusations were "some right-wing troll shit."

Williams emphasizes that he prefers to stay out of politics and believes that celebrities should not be inserting their opinions. However, he also acknowledges that he has strong feelings about certain issues, particularly immigration policy. Ultimately, he maintains that he's "of no authority" and prefers to focus on taking action through his own nonprofit organization, Yellow.

The controversy arose after Williams' Hollywood Reporter interview in September, where he criticized celebrity endorsements without naming names. Some media outlets suggested that he was targeting Swift, who had endorsed Kamala Harris for president. However, the interview was conducted before Swift's endorsement, making it unlikely that Williams was referring to her.

Williams' clarification comes as many celebrities have voiced their support for Harris, including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Megan Thee Stallion. Swift's endorsement was particularly notable due to her large following and previous political neutrality.
