AceShowbiz - Liam Payne's music apparently has been played by fans more since his tragic death. Following his passing, the "Strip That Down" singer's last single titled "Teardrops" entered the iTunes chart.
On Thursday, October 17, it was reported that some of the 31-year-old former One Direction member's solo songs have been performing well since his passing. Among them was his latest track "Teardrops", which recently entered the U.S. iTunes chart.
Similarly, Liam's debut solo single titled "Strip That Down", which was released back in 2017, re-entered the tally. Furthermore, his only solo album titled "LP1", which was launched in 2019, charted on the music streaming platform. Aside from those, One Direction's albums "Four", "Midnight Memories" and "Up All Night" made their returns on the chart.
Furthermore, "Teardrops" debuted on the U.K. iTunes chart at No. 7. His collaborative songs, "For You" with songstress Rita Ora and "Familiar" with J Balvin, also appeared on the list. As for his solo record "LP1", it returned on the chart at No. 16.
Liam's music projects re-entered the music streaming charts one day following his sudden passing. The English singer/songwriter died on Wednesday, October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Prior to his death, it was reported that Liam was facing a major career blow following One Direction's breakup. He allegedly was struggling with his solo career as his second album was "quietly put on ice" while "Teardrops" flopped.
A source spilled to The U.S. Sun on October 8, "Things are tough for Liam at the moment. His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year. He was a steady hand for Liam and he appears to be struggling without his guidance."
"Things have started to seem slightly erratic, with plans being made before they are cancelled last minute," the insider continued. "Liam had been doing really well on his second album but now it's completely on pause. Liam is telling people now he has no idea if it'll ever be released."
